PSN connection problems (12/24)

Without you complaining? Outside of Netflix giving me a few cents off my monthly fee for a system wide outage I've never had any ISP voluntarily do this :/
 
I'm just glad I was able to patch Driveclub to play with the weather this morning and show it off to my wife. Incredible stuff. Really irritated that I can't access the store.

Yeah this is my thinking as well. Tons of new users, millions of people online redeeming voucher codes and downloading updates for new games, on top of everything else, that has to put a tremendous strain on the infrastructure. If you were going to carry out a ddos attack on PSN and XBL, today is the day to do it.

I'm able access all my streaming services and single player for my digitals so it's not a total loss. But I definitely feel sorry for all those unable to enjoy their new consoles. It doesn't get much better than a fresh gaming system on Christmas Day.

Joke post? There's nothing that Sony or Microsoft can do to prevent DDOS attacks. From what I've been told it's just a massive amount of traffic from all over, happening at once. Like when E3 causes GAF to go down. Even getting it to stop is hard because companies have to try to weed out which traffic is legitimate and which isn't, which I'm told is hard to do.
 
My friend can't play some of his digital games on my PS4 because of some license issue, I guess that's because it's not his 'main' PS4.

Go digital. :lol
 
What did I mess up if I put a new hdd in yesterday, restored licenses, clicked activate as primary, and downloaded everything. Resogun from PS+ works but Trials and Injustice which I paid for just freeze at the main menu. I know the network is getting hit but I thought everything worked offline if I bought it.

I probably can't fix it but I'd like to know what I should have done for next time.

Even though I opened my new Vita at midnight last night in order to avoid all this, I've still only managed to download 4 of the 10 games. I'm just glad I got those. It could have been far worse. Definitely not a good first impression, though.
 
Managed to play GTA Online without any problems. Store is still down and other stuff is quite slow

MMaRsu, i also wanted to buy Dragon Age today, so I could play it tomorrow, but looks like it will have to wait
 
Was going to play some GTA: Online with a friend before work, can't. Meh, I'll just watch the Interview instead.
 
I was wondering what was going on. Far cry 4 kept freezing on start up trying to login. Thankfully turning off my internet on my ps4 solved it. Imagine we went online only lol.

There are other places where you don't need to pay for multiplayer if you absolutely need it. If you don't feel you're getting your service worth for your money, there is only one way to make your voice known

So, because reasons, every time there's a DDOS attack, Sony & MS are just going to throw up their hands and say "oh well, nothing we can do. please understand. please keep paying to use Live or PSN"

I don't have any other system or PC. I'm definitely staying with ps4 so I have to deal with it. What u mean "if I feel that I'm not getting my money worth, there is only one way to make your voice known"? Like stop paying for ps+? Hell no, if hundred or thousand of people agree to stop paying for ps+ at the same time with an open letter to the ones in charge of ps+ then I would of been game.
 
man, been wanting to play some loadout (got hocked on that now, even with all the other good stuff i bought this year), at least was able to play some pinball arcade stuff, season 4 starting to come out has bran strokers Dracula table, such fun times between that ad cooking up some turkey :)

Easier said than done. Only game I play at the moment is TLOU:R (have 15-20 in total). I have a 50% success rate of being able to play it instantly when I boot up my PS4 since there's either a weird issue with the internet despite it being wired or shitty netcoding by the interns that worked on the port for the PS4. Yes I'm being a dick on the last point but why the fuck hasn't that issue been fixed yet Naughty Dog, 6 months later after a remastered game and you still can't fix it? Embarrassing.
 
PSN on PS3 still works fine.

Been playing some online Tekken Revolution matches. Going to play again soon when I get more battle coins.

I might be ignorant but I think its absolutely ridiculous everytime supposedly Ddos happen MS/Sony just have their drawers around our ankles and cant do anything.. I refuse to believe that
 
Ugh. Lugged my PS4 to my parents house so that we could all play The Jackbox Party Pack and PSN sign in is reauired. Christmas is ruined!
 
Don't worry everyone. I sent a snarky tweet to the leader of these jokers, and I'm pretty sure he'll start crying and back off after he realizes that he's not that impressive.

I bought DAI last night, I just went to play it, since and the game doesn't let me, it appears with a lock saying that cannot connect to the server to verify the license. Every other game is available (excluding Destiny which can't be played without being logged in to PSN).
 
PSN and Xbox are going to have to rethink some of their sign in policies if a bunch of punks assholes can do this to their networks on christmas.....

Yeah always verify your licenses after purchasing games.. That sucks though :(.

As soon as you logon re verify your licenses

If its not his main account with the digital games...thats his problem for sharing an account. If its your main account, everything should be fine.

On topic, I expect Sony to extend everyone's PS+ membership for a few days. Paying for this shit and losing online playtime that you pay for is BS.
