Bad_Boy originally posted this in the PS Store thread. Last Friday SCEE released a large PSN Showcase trailer on the European PS Store and now it's available at GameTrailers and it's well worth the look. About 5 minutes in length and shows a lot of PSN stuff, a lot of upcoming stuff including the first look at Aqua Vita, SnakeBall, Nucleus and Sky Blue as well as generally delivering a good overview.

Relaxing Entertainment heh? :p Seems an interesting concept to have on PSN.

I wonder if Aqua Vita allows you to actually manage an aquarium. That would be kinda cool.

Very nice trailer btw

Both Aqua Vita and Sky Blue are PS Eye games I believe. You can see a reflection of someone playing, waving away the fish, flying.

so what is Aqua Vita?

Both Aqua Vita and Sky Blue are PS Eye compatible games. You can see a reflection of someone playing, waving away the fish, flying. That's as much as we know right now I believe.

Snakeball looks so cool - was that game known about before?

It was pictured and detailed but this may actually be the first video glimpse to my knowing. It's basically like Snakes in that you grow your tail by eating and stuff but a bit more complex with disco environments and whatever new additional stuff they've added.

I want Super Stardust HD so badly!

There's an IGN interview going up this week with more on SSHD. Wait till you see the new pics...whoa!

And both Aqua Vita and Sky Blue are indeed Eye games, with Eyedentify and Ember still not shown just yet.

Ahahaha that LittleBigPlanet bit where all the characters are flipping out is awesome. Can someone make a .gif of that part starting with the little sack guys walking on the 'earth'?

Seriously, my kid is going to go bananas over the fish thing. What a life changing product.

Looking at that video, the sheer variety of games that will be available in the PSN only in its first year is pretty crazy. Granted it wasn't planned to be this way from the start, but looking at Calling all Cars and Go! Puzzle in the same clip as Warhawk... that's just crazy.

I think Sky Blue will be pretty great, you can fly. I would have loved that as a kid.
I will love it now

their names were mentioned in an interview, as games that utilize the eye camera.

Aqua Vita = microtransrapement happy hour. Hope the power of Cell processor can authentically simulate all the rape, incest, and cannibalism like the real thing.

None shown though before this trailer. Nucleus and SnakeBall was pictured but this was the first video I believe. Anyways, every company should do montage trailers like this.
SingStar and Socom Confrontation is missing though.

Aqua Vita looks hot even though it seems to be a screen saver type non-game. 1080p? I could see myself leaving that on when I'm not playing a game.
Super Stardust HD = day 1 purchase.
Sky Blue looks like something thatgamecompany would make, i'm interested.
SnakeBall looks alright, not sure how the gameplay works though.
Nucleus looks fun. nice to finally see more footage of it.

Sony needs to put this video in kiosks, the PS Store, and other places. And more videos like it.

Eye Toy support FTMFW!!!!

That's awesome, as you'll actually have a chance to catch some tells. They should add face mapping to your avatar too.
GAF poker night will be fun. Everytime I go all in, I'm putting my ass to the camera.

BTW, I know nothing about this game. Are those PSN Home avatars?

That trailer looked great. It's good at showing off the variety of games that they're getting.

Yes, they do.

Every store in my area that has the PS3 has the same old demo from November of last year (with demos of Motorstorm and NBA 07 being the only playable content). A new in-store demo featuring a video like this, along with some playable demos of recent games, would be very welcome right about now.

Just recently the PS3s in Wal-Mart got new demos and trailers. Maybe yours will be updated soon.

Very nice railer. Lets see some more stuff like this Sony!

Huh, Aqua Vita looks a lot like that crowd AI demo SCE was experimenting with a couple GDCs back. The algo had several fish species forming schools, reacting to different groups and whatnot. This was the blurb from IGN at the time (along with a video)...

Initially a demo that was quickly shown during Phil Harrison's keynote speech, the flocking fish demo tracked not only a small school of fish but also showed five thousand other fish in a watery environment. Of the five, this one seemed to display the lowest framerate as it rendered each fish in their schools, swimming and swirling about in the water. However, that rate was still around thirty frames a second, so slowdown really wasn't much of a factor here. What was so interesting about this demo is that it showed off the AI of the different "objects" or schools of fish in the water, tracking how they moved through the space and adjusting them independently. More than once, the camera was subjected to fish swimming up to and "through" the lens as other schools went about their way. For the most part, one processor was handling the load of tracking the fish, while some of the others were rendering the reflectivity of the fish scales, the water environment, and other features.

And Sky Blue sorta reminds me of the raycasting demo IBM put together. They turned the Duckies into a game so it wouldn't surprise me. Hopefully these turn out a little better though. ;)

Wow they could've at least made that trailer less boring and show some more new stuff. It was not fun to watch at all.

Wow Sony shouldn't even have the liscence to advertise Crash Bandicoot, Little Big Planet and Warhawk on the same service amazing. :O

E3?

How's pricing on the PSN? I'm living with a PS3-owning roommate this fall, and wouldn't mind dropping $5 on games like Super Stardust and Nucleus.

In the latest UK Official Playstation Magaine:

Stardust HD - 8/10
Nucleus - 3/10

Aquavita and Sky Blue are "interactive screensavers". You can see a reflection of yourself on the fish tank in Aquavita. There is also a fireplace screensaver on the way.

They really didn't like Nucleus at all, biggest problem seems to be with the weapons. But they realy, really liked Stardust.

Aqua Vita would be great to have on while Folding. Should be something they should look into in the future! Even if it was far more limited...it would still be cool.

I was hoping that Poker would be integrated into HOME...maybe Sony can make their own version.

I still want to see what these 'big games' are that Sony are supposed to be working on for PSN. I know there's Warhawk, LBP and Socom, but those are also going to be retail releases.

I'm interested in what Insomniac and Factor 5 are doing for PSN, and what the rumours were that 1UP heard ages ago.

I imagine that at Sony's E3 press conference we will see alot (and I suspect there will be alot) of announcements.
But I'm interested to see what bigger PSN games Sony are working on that aren't online multiplayer only ie, SOCOM: Confrontation etc.

But what's interesting to me is that the PSN's original game content seems to spilt into two 'tiers'. Smaller titles like FLOW, Super Rub-a-Dub and larger gaming experiences like SOCOM:Confrontation and Gripshift.

I just hope that Sony will have teams like Factor 5, Insomniac and Naughty Dog working on larger, more expansive content for PSN rather than just some 'fluff'.

What rumours where they? I don't really keep up to date with 1up.com other than their podcasts.
