PSP battery woes

I recently dug out my old launch PSP from 2005 and it still works, however I had to buy a replacement battery, I bought a "new" Sony OEM battery, however, the thing only gets an hour and a half of battery life.

I'm hesitant to buy some bootleg battery, is there a recommended choice for one? or is the battery life just like this because the PSP is so old?

I would def buy ANY new bootleg over OEM 2005. No wonder you only get 90 min

What would you recommend though glancing at ebay?
Sorry can't help you there friend, I'm just knowledgeable about batteries in general through my line of work. I'm sure we got some aficionados in here that could point you in the right direction. Don't be afraid of after market Chinese batteries though, as the poster above you said - any one of them would probably be miles better. With that said, even Amazon seem to be selling them for no more than 15 bucks so not much of an investment if you'd just like to try it out.

OEMs batteries are a bit like lucky dip. I bought one a few years ago, and it didn't work, so I ended up getting another one. I've read a few similar stories online too. I didn't want to get a knockoff one out of fear of it exploding in my PSP one day, but people are satisfied with them.

Yep. Doesn't matter

Here's one with a beefy battery and 5 star reviews

I haven't used that one, but the Youtube algorithm had a PSP battery test video recommended to me the other day. And that one won.

My og PSP battery got swollen and I had trouble taking it out but I got it done. Opted for a generic one with good reviews but ended up not using it that much because I got a Vita.

So, this is exactly what I bought, thank you very much for the suggestion.
