PSP Giga Packs in stores yet?

Or is there a ship date?

Just curious as I'm thinking of just skipping Nintendo handhelds for the moment, I can get my SSS fix via emu, because the PSP library has expanded to the point where there are plenty of games I want to play. That, and since it's winter I'll be hibernating in the back of my house in the smaller, better fortified against the harsh winter conditions rooms where there is no television, PS2, or DVD player. :(

Don't come at me with that crazy science fiction logic of a small TV costing less than a PSP. :P

I'm an eccentric and I'm trying to adopt a Spartan lifestyle. Shut up - it's gonna take some work, but soon it'll be bare wood floors and a pillow to sit on. :D

It's being advertised in the Future Shop flyer here this week and their site says it's in stock so I guess that answers your question..

Available online at both EB and Gamestop. I have seen them at my local EB gamestores but my friend that works at Gamestop says they don't have them at their brick and mortar stores and his DM said he didn't know when they would get them.

EB's site says it comes with a "verticle" stand... what? I looked for it as a separate accessory but didn't see it, anyone know what it's about? Any pictures of it?

It's just a small clear plastic stand with the Playstation and PSP logos on it. Looks kinda like one of those display stands they would use at game gameshow... only much smaller and not as stable.

fry's had it on sale last week..well not really on sale, but they gave a copy of Frantix for free with the pack

Heartland has it on sale, and they're selling them. (White one)

So does this replace either of the old packs? i'm hoping not; as an ex-PSP owner looking at getting another unit, i'm looking to go about this as cheaply as possible.

Anyone pick up a Giga pack yet? My old unit's LCD cracked, so I'm in need of a stellar replacement.

BTW - Sony WON'T repair systems for physical damage, correct?

Nuts man, how in the hell did you manage that one? :X

Hmm I wonder if Otterbox has a PSP case in the works? I love my iPod Otterbox. Especially after I drowned my first iPod. :(

I got a brick thrown at my pocket, which had the unit inside it, snuggled into the soft case that came standard with the VP. I should make the fucker who did it pay me back, but I kinda deserved it. Don't ask.

Sony will probably replace it, but expect the total costs to be about the cost of a new PSP.

TTOB: That's right, i forgot the US didn't get the vanilla pack with just PSP, battery, and adapter.

I dunno.

I bought one used last week, with a bunch of games, for a damn good deal.

I'm ebaying it this weekend.

I dunno. As a media player its awesome. Incredible screen. Wifi browser is neat. Photo viewing is neat. So is emulation of course. But that stuff only holds your interest for so long. I don't see myself constantly encoding clips to watch on the thing, or transferring music/pictures. Or even browsing the net- once the novelty wears out, you wonder why you did it. The actual games that were included held my interest for a good 10 min. (except for lumines- that game rocks)

But yeah. Don't see myself using it on a consistent basis. Hopefully an owner who better appreciates it will receive it.

One of the online console retailers here in Denmark has replacement PSP screen for sale for ~$60. Given that we generally get anything later than the rest of the world (and have to pay more for it too) I'd imagine it should be easy to find elsewhere too.

Don't know difficult it is to install, but at least it shouldn't require soldering :D

I saw a replacement LCD at pspcrazy or one of those sites, but to be honest I'm a pushover when it comes to reapplying the shit myself. Plus, the warranty would be voided...though at this point who needs one anyway?

Still, I'd rather just be on the safe side and pick up a Giga Pack.

I had my stones all ready to throw, and then I remembered I wasted money on a NintenD00DS. :(

Yeah, I guess we're all prone to Stupid Attacks™ every now and then.

I dunno. I just got a steady girlfriend and as a lover, she's awesome. Incredible body. Great personality. Her jokes are neat. So is the sex of course. But that stuff only holds your interest for so long. I don't see myself constantly trying new things in the Kama Sutra, or swapping various fluids. Or even cybering- once the novelty wears out, you wonder why you did it. The actual intercourse held my interest for a good 10 min. (except for anal- that rocks)

But yeah. Don't see myself doing her on a consistent basis. Hopefully an other guy who better appreciates it will pick her up for sloppy seconds.

Damn someone threw a brick at you, hitting your pocket and damaging your PSP screen? Well at least it hurt a lot less then if it would've hit you directly. Unless you had more then one brick thrown at you of course.

Anyone buy one yet? I'm hearing some rumors that the units FEEL different than Value PAck units (the fuck is that supposed to mean?) and that the included battery is stronger....
