PSP interface questions

I recently got my PSP but the manual is in Japanese, and I couldn't find an answer on GameFAQs.

Is there a way to start up and boot directly to the interface when a UMD is inserted? Now I either have to eject the disc while booting up or load the game and then press Home.

Also, is there a way to change the order of pictures in the photo viewer? I'd prefer alphabetical listings instead of by date. If not, is there a program which gives files new file dates according to names?

No.

Well, if you've got a 1.50 or less, you could always use JPEGViewer on your PSP instead of Sony's lacking viewer. But if you're stuck in 1.51 or greater land, then there are some programs that'll modify the "date modified" portion of the file. If you're looking to optimize the pictures for the PSP at the same time, I must recommend Sho Nuff's lovechild, PSPhoto.

Google, the forum search, psphacker and the stickied PSP exploit thread should be your friends in finding more information.

Yes. Kinda.

The PSP will power on in the state it was put to sleep in.
So. If you sleep it (quick flick of power slider) while at home screen, it will return to home screen when you power on (wake it), even if there is a UMD game inserted.

I always sleep mine. I haven't turned it (hard)off since I got it. Battery drain is next to nada.

use sleep mode. the battery drain is really pretty minimal. Or just get used to ejecting the disc before booting up.

1. Use sleep mode. I never power mine off

2. The way to change the order of your pictures is to use one of the tools that let you sort files on psp alphabetically by giving them new dates. Look at pspupdates.com for tools of that kind. These tools are run on your PC, while PSP is connected to it with USB cable.
