PSP manga/mem stick question

I recently got a 1.0gb sandisk pro duo and while manga reading is pretty decent it could be better. Is there anyone who has the highspeed 1.0 memstick from sandisk/sony that can tell a noticable difference when viewing pictures?

I imagine the method that the psp uses to refresh the imagine is what seems like the bottleneck since it runs movies just fine which are alot bigger.

I am using psphoto 2.0 to convert my images.

I've noticed a speed difference between regular Memory Stick Duos and Memory Stick Pro Duos when viewing photos from my digital camera, but no discernable difference between the Pro Duo and Pro Duo high speed sticks. I think the high speed transfer has to be explicitly supported by the hardware, and none of my Sony gear does, so performance is on par with a regular Pro Duo.

ah, cool thanks i just searched some other forums seems like psp doesn't support it :/ i did find something interesting tho, but i'll make another thread about it since its not related really.

iirc, the psp doesn't take advantage of high-speed memsticks...so if you don't own (or plan to own) any other memstick-compatable hardware, there's no need to shell out xtra $$$ for a high speed stick.

(but since there's the Vaio, Aibo, Cameras, Video Recorders, and TVs that all take'em...ya still might wanna think ahead)

I don't think the slowness is due to the MS speed. It's probably just the JPEG reader.

Yeah; that seems likely given the read speed off of the memory stick. I'd really like to see a hi-speed/regular speed bench test though. USB2 should be enough for a large file transfer test, and something could probably be rigged up movie playback wise using a particularily stressful bitrate.

I've only noticed really slow JPG loads with B+W manga and comic images. Full color ones, however are slightly faster...
