PSP- Memory Stick Help!

I don't have my PSP yet, but I probably will within a week or two so I want to try and get an order in soon for a 1gb sandisk duo. Looking around nowhere seems to actually have them in stock. Are these sticks on backorder everywhere? Any tips to finding a source with a fair price that actually can get me one within a few weeks would be awesome :(

Not an answer, but kind of related.
I bought a Sandisk memory stick, and I may have bent it slightly while taking it out of the terrible plastic casing. It looks straight by eye, but it sticks in my PSP - it won't eject. I have to use tweezers to pull it out manually. Moral of the story, be extra careful when taking the stick out of the stupid packaging.

Gotta love those FRICKIN ENORMOUS plastic cases.

Do it like Japan and have them all in tiny cardboard boxes behind the register :P

200 PIECES IN STOCK $149

memorysuppliers.com/sa1gbmestpro.html

I ordered one from this site last week and got it yesterday. :)

You can try checking out buy.com (use auto notification to email you) or just check ebuyer.com daily. This is for the Sandisk 1gb memory stick duo pro (SDMSPD-1024-A10). About 125-126 shipped. I think sparco.com raised their price.

For those of you who want to 'future-proof' their investment, the Sony HIGH SPEED (red) 1gb duo cards (MSX-M1GN) REALLY dropped in price but are equally hard to find. Techonweb.com had it for $162 (US). Expect other dealers to follow suit and drop their prices on it soon if they ever get any in stock.

HIGH SPEED is rated at 80 Mbps (or 10MBps) vs 15Mbps for duo pro. High Speed is also rated for extreme temperatures (-13°F to 185°F). Unfortunately, I don't know of any devices that really take advantage of it aside from memory card readers. (Maybe if you stick it in an adapter and use it in the DSC-V3 but why would you when you can get other media for cheaper?)

Edit: Forgot to list memorysuppliers. Thanks to Lyte Edge.

This website has it for $138 + shipping. It's a pretty reliable website and the customer reviews seem positive. The status may be "on order" but that means that they will order it from Sandisk and then have it sent to you.

Yeah, I know. And the 1GB one is $150 IIRC, while the regular 1GB is $200.

So when are they coming out?
They should be coming out around March. There is no difference between the sticks they have now and the colored sticks. Also, the 1.0 GB stick is yellow. Just though I should mention that.

You can find all of the information here.

I know there's no difference, I just hope it drives prices down for the regular sticks as well. Right now it's really hard to find a 1GB Pro Duo, and even if you do, it'll cost you around $140. Hopefully with those new models, it'll be easier and cheaper to find them.

The color is no big deal since I'll probably never remove it from my PSP.

Mind you that the 1GB Pro Duos are in state of global shortage right now (I've literally looked around the world for them in last month) and the prices have still been going down.

I recieved mine today from there, took a week to get delivered to Australia.

Mine is in the mail from Sparco... but damn, I didn't know they actually raised their price sometime after I purchased mine. Lame!

Brandon: your link to ebay points to a PRO and not a PRO DUO- just wanted to point that out in case anyone decides to mistakenly click it and BIN without looking. :)
