Ok i know the answer is hidden somewhere in these threads but I want to know if playing any of the new games coming out require for you to update the firmware. I currently have a 1.5 psp and dont want to risk not being able to play my emu's.

All of the new games require an update but the homebrew program listed above will make the PSP satisfy the upgrade requirement without actually upgrading.

heres hoping that it works flawlessly with GTA:LCS

probably will, i dont think theres any 2.0 games that havent run with the version changer

it'll probably have copy protection though but still shouldn't be affected with WAB version changer

copy protection?? so if i have a 2 gig stick i wont be able to rip it and run it from the stick??

if it does have copy protection, that would be the idea. WE9 had copy protection but it got cracked easily. game still ran with WAB version changer so it only affects pir8s or people wanting to reduce load times

If you have a PSP v1.50 and don't want to upgrade 'just' beacause of GTALCS. You could also try fastloader 0.7.

I works fine with Burnout (BOL requires 1.52). Fastloader skips the whole firmware check thing.. So you're able to play GTA and play Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts on just ONE PSP.. Well if that's not great nothing is...... :D
