This thread is meant to be devoted to one specific aspect of the PSP , that is how hard did you have to search to find certain games ?

Local stores for me(within 10 minutes by car)
2X EB games
Walmart
Zellers
Super Store

Games Easily attainable- If it was published by EA or Sony then its in stock, with tons of copies to spare even still. Dynasty warriors also doesn't seem to hard to come by.

Games that are impossible to find locally - Lumines- I never saw any anywhere except for the copy I bought at one of the EBgames, I purchased the last one friday.
Darkstalkers- Both EB's were sold out of this game before I went there to pick up my preorder at 530 PM on thursday, walmart had about 6 of them in stock on friday all were gone by saturday night.

It should be mentioned that zellers and superstore didnt get anything in beyond the sony and EA stuff, also tony hawk and spiderman.

So to put it all in a small graph form-

High quantities- EA and Sony stuff(wipeout , twisted metal, need for speed rivals etc)
Low Quantities- Dynasty Warriors, metal gear acid , Activision stuff
non existent- Lumines, Ridge Racer, Darkstalkers


I'd be really interested to find out what the software-hardware tie in ratio for this thing is most PSP owners seem to pick ing up 3 or 4 games. 2 at the very least.

In my neck of the woods, Lumines and Ridge Racer were available. Dynasty Warriors was nowhere to be found. No sign of ATV or Ape Escape either.

I was lucky with Lumines, I arrived (at Gamestop) just as they had gotten a second shipment in.

I got Twisted Metal and Wipeout ahead of launch with no problem.


Lumines, I had to drive to 5 different places(Walmart, Bestbuy, another bestbuy, target, then compusa) before grabbing the last copy at compusa (some sucker acutally got it first but put it back on the shelf :lol).

Ridge Racer was sold out in all those stores also, but I gave up the search after I got Lumines.

Lumines/Metal Gear Ac!d are near impossible to find in Canada GTA, I found one copy of MGA but the shop wanted 64.99$ for it which is way too much for a freakin game (portable game) no matter how good it is.

EB in the Eaton Centre is pretty much the only place to find Lumines in downtown Toronto.

Amazon.ca has MGA for $49.99 (and free shipping, of course). I just ordered from them, and bought Wipeout Pure from the local EB. Since I have a Japanese PSP I already had Ridge Racers and Lumines, but I don't think I actually saw them for sale at Future Shop (or WP for that matter).

I've seen Darkstalkers everywhere - my CC only had 3 copies, but the wal-mart I went to had like 15.

I hope it sells well so Capcom will put more 2D fighters on PSP.

I've looked for PSP stuff at four places close to me-Ridge Racer is fucking GONE. Methinks Namco is going to clean up on this whole PSP deal

Everything is easily obtainable in my area aside from Ridge Racer and Metal Gear Acid. The two EB's are out of Lumines, but Target have about 8 copies of it.

I hope that's the case for RR, that it is indeed selling really well, and not that they just shipped very little of it. Because even having not played it yet, I know it really deserves to do very well. Lumines on the other hand, I think is actually selling well, nothing to do with shipments, because I've actually seen Lumines being purchased a number of times, and from the looks of it it seems to be one of the most popular games among the forums.

Ridge Racer sold out on Day 1 around here. Everything else seemed to be readily available as of this morning.

Here In NY I had a hard time finding ridge racer. I finally found one at a mom and pop specialty game shop. It was fucked, up my Game stop was selling the games as they came In, days before the actual Psp release. On 3/24 they only had like 3 games for purchase with the system.

I never really looked around 'cause the first place I went to, a local Walmart, had a ton of systems and all the games I was looking for. Infact I think they probably carry all the PSP games currently available. All the difficult to find titles like Lumines, Ridge Racer, Metal Gear Ac!d, etc. were all there and in abundance.

Around here, Everyone is sold out of Untold Legends. I think this game had to be extremely short shipped since my best buy only got 8 of them. Ridge Racer and Lumines are also very short shipped, same best buy only got 4 for each game. The 3 games that are sold out everywhere around here are definately Lumines, Ridge Racer, and Untold Legends. Metal Gear Acid can easily be found at Best Buy, Target, walmart and eb games around here at least. Dynasty Warriors is plentiful in this area also. The main titles that we had a ton of around here are Wipeout Pure, NFSU Rivals, THUG 2 Remix, and Twisted Metal Head-on. Everything else was pretty middle of the pack 12-16 copies at most stores.

When I was in the store making a payment on a PSP, a MILF was buying a PSP for her kid and she was asking me what games were good... so I mentioned Lumines, the second I mentioned it was like a futuristic Tetris (and had been rated as the best game on the system), her eyes lit up and she bought one Word of mouth is gonna sell this one...

Appparently, I mean it had 15 good replies until you gave your 2 cents on its worth. I haven't seen a thread about this specific subject so I made one rather then further inflating the official thread or the other sales based thread which is basically just DS vs PSP at this point.

If anyone lives in Brampton, Ontario. At We Got Games in Shoppers world there is a ton of Ridge Racer games, tons of almost every title actually. Cept Lumines of course.

You live in Brampton right? Well check We Got Games then, they have MGA for $60 I believe (not going to find it for any less). Lots of copies too, so don't worry about availability.
