Nintendo DS
15000 yen = $144 = £77 (+17.5% = £90) = €110 (+17.5% = €129)

Actual price:
15000 yen <> $149 <> £99 <> €149

Markups / Difference (approx):
none <> $5 <> £10 (£25 incl tax payable) <> €20 (€40 incl tax payable)

PSP

PSP 1000 pack: 19800 yen = $190 = £100 (+17.5% = £118) = €146 (+17.5% = €171)
PSP 1000K pack: 26040 yen = $251 = £133 (+17.5% = £156) = €192 (+17.5% = €226)

If Sony displayed similar differences in markup and pricing, we'd have:

PSP 1000 pack: none <> $195 <> £110-£125 <> €165-€195
PSP 1000K pack: none <> $255 <> £143-£158 <> €212-232

My predictions

I think we'll see a PSP in the UK for £130 at best (the pricepoint PS2 and Xbox had been at for quite a while). I think it could be as high as $200 in the US. €180-€200 in the rest of Europe. Something like that.
The value pack.. which is what most people here will probably want would weigh in at something like: £150-180, $230-250, €230-250

Prices like that would be fiendishly good. I'm fully prepared to accept thinking of it in this manner might be totally wrong, but I do think it gives us a good idea at the moment. People would still lap this thing up. And I think we'll see that. But with DS at $149, £99 and €149 -- you have to expect premiums to those figures for PSP. Common sense.

What guess ye GAF?
Is my back oriface somehow typing or you with me?
