[PSP] Wipeout Pure downloadable stuff already ?

can someone confirm that staten park, tigron ship and piranha skin are downloadable with the japanese version of wipeout pure ?

seems it saves under psp/savedata/

Ok, I'm sitting here with the Japanese WP and my PSP but I don't have a wireless router. Is there no way I can use the USB cable and connect to the internet through my PC?

Or better yet, no way to just download the file on the PC and stick it on the memory card?
 
Yeah, Gamma Pack 1 is available, according to the website. I only skimmed it, but think it said there'll be one pack every six months.

I haven't checked the site but they said originally it would be one per month for a six month period. They are supposed to be allowing downloads via the site too, so check it out Bebpo.

I might sell my US version and get the JP release at this rate. I know it includes a language option for English menus, at least.

Ahh OK, I must've got it backwards then. That sounds much more reasonable. :)

Yeah I'm kinda bummed I bought the US one now, but then, I haven't even played it much yet... I dunno, maybe Wipeout just doesn't do it for me anymore...

They say on the site that PC downloads are coming in the future and for now you need a wireless router.

So I'm just lurking around 2ch WP thread and hoping someone reposts the save (already been posted twice in the last 24 hours but both links are dead now ;_;).

The Japanese version of WP also has manga style colored art pages in the manual, kinda neat.

And as an aside, lurking on 2ch and reading the thread is an interesting insight into how the Japanese gamers feel about gaming. Basically everyone in the thread is complaining about the long load times in Wipeout Pure and many are going to sell it off because of them. I guess if you're taking short trains than the load times can be more bothersome than normal.
 
Did they complain abot RR load times too? Cos they look like are about the same to me.
 
Other than the initial start-up, it doesn't seem that bad.

Aside: I wonder if Japan has snobby gamers who are only into western games.

Actually they're bitching about WP's load times in comparison to Ridge. They say RR is bad though bearable, but WP is 2x as long as RR per race. People are like "did they think people would really be happy with a game where they wait half the time!!?". I dunno it's a pretty negative hate thread at the moment and everyone is being a dick and not posting the new track/ship save >_<

Load times in a japan developed game - acceptable

Nearly the same load times in a game developed outside of japan - riot
 
The loading isn't bad in Wipeout Pure (I actually think loading is better than Ridge Racer), but the initial bootup is PURE shit. Mostly due to the number of screens you have to go through just to get to the title screen. Thankfully there's sleep mode...

Don't have RR with me, but that 2x as long comment seems like utter BS. The load times in W:P seem to be about the same as RR to me.

SO why isn't NA version getting downloads? or is it getting them soon? Just curious because of some people here thinking about trading their WP na version to the jpn version.

You miss my point. Of course we do. We also have snobby gamers who love only Japanese games, deeming them "better" in a sweeping generalization. I was wondering if in Japan there was a similar group who liked Western games.

Yes there are, and they all have a massive hardon for FPS and strategy games. Of course they are limited in number but they LOVE the PC gaming market.
 
Pardon the bump, but is there any news when the DLC will hit online for the US version? I'm itching for new tracks and it's almost a month since the game has been out. Which means DLC should be coming any time soon, hopefully
