PSP Wish list

Things I want to see on my PSP:

Devil Dice sequel. I loved this game, and never really got tired of it, although I worked through all the non-random puzzles. Sony, give us a new portable version with more puzzles! And a puzzle editor and download feature!

Downloadable small games. I can't see why archive collections like Namco Museum couldn't be a la carte and offer far more choices, for small sums of money. A huge library of easily ported/emulated arcade games. (MAME is the biggest hole in the emu scene on PSP.)

An infrastructure mode FPS.

GT Mobile. ;)

A game like OIDS/Gravitar, preferably with a world editor.

A modern Gauntlet.

Infrastructure strategy games (seems like some are coming-- I want a lot of them).

A small keyboard/cover combo. I'm not going to really use the webbrowser until there's a real input device.

I <3 Ignatz!

Things I would like (as least amount of trolling possible)

ALL multiplayer games to be online
More original games not based on existing console series (games like MGA only that don't suck)

these would get me to buy more PSP games.

MY wishlist for handhelds, now that all handhelds are online...

a handheld MMORPG.

that is all.

edit - does PSP have a microphone or can you add one? I would like voice chat also (and from DS as well).

But a (spiritual) sequel to Devil Dice was released, right? Bombastic? Not just on PSP. :P

I want to see more online games for PSP. Also, a keyboard for browsing the net as you said...and maybe to converse in online games?

Oh, and bring out some new damn batteries Sony...so we can fully enjoy the goodness of unlocked PSP hardware. :P

Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX Pack
RE4 style Resident Evil
Some adventure game similar to Beyond Good and Evil
Final Fantasy Tactics 2
Einhander 2
Syphon Filter
Splinter Cell
Final Fantasy Crisis Core (no card battle please)
Ace Combat IV
Tekken
Soul Calibur

More adventure games and RPG's

I'll change my mind in an hour about this, but:

A Rival Schools 1+2 remake

Final Fantasy VIII-2

A Kojima game (not MGS)

Tokimeki Memorial (translated)

Virtua Fighter 1+2 (pixel perfect)

A communication game based on wi-fi

A new Twinbee shoot'em up with platform levels (do u remember Rainbow Bell Adventure?)

I just want more original games, period. Sorry, but enhanced ports (with somewhat questionable art styles) of old NES/SNES games just don't cut it in my book.

Though if people are going to resurrect old games, like Capcom, they should go for franchises that never caught on before. Perhaps on the new handheld, games like the aforemention Rival Schools, or maybe even Tech Romancer and Power Stone might find the audience they deserve.

Bombastic is a real live sequel to Devil Dice. It's a bit short, and I don't completly love what they did with it. They turned the puzzles into mini-levels almost like a platform game. They were good but too few of them. And I miss the pure grid puzzles as well.

Plus, no multiplayer in Bombastic. Devil Dice could support up to five, and had a couple different two-player modes as well.

All of this, over infrastructure, woudl rock. And I can't imagine it woudl cost a lot to develop. Given how successful the original, and the first sequel (which was never ported here) were, I think this would be a no-brainer.

this is a great idea!

i'd also like to see a virtua fighter game, something new from toshihiro nagoshi and a new game from polyphony digital :)

It's an ARPG

I want Gust to make a RPG for PSP

and I want to see whatever game Level-5 is working on.

Something from Sacnoth/Nautilus would be nice too. I rather see them do something on PSP than to not have enough budget on the PS3 or whatever game.

Parasite Eve III

Powerstone III online :D

Revive Toshinden, but make it good.... same with Legend of Dragoon...

Has anyone tried this yet? They are available in the Sony store now so just wondering. Does it stream good from a hotspot? Is there truth to you being able to stream files from your PC as well? All that together sounds like it's worth it.

A poster above got it right EINHANDER SEQUEL DAMMNIT!!

I would like to see some downloadable demos but I think we have our homebrew and hacker friends to thank for us not having anything like that right now. In fact I would love to see more stuff being done with the memory stick like custom soundtracks, map editors and such.

I would love to see a Neverwinter Nights type game thats online. DM's can make there campaigns and you could download the campaigns then play them out.

- GTA LCS working on 1.50.

God, I pray for this everyday!

I just upgraded... but I still wish for this. Or more likely, an improvement on the 2.0 ability to run stuff. It looks like LCS actually uses features of the new firmware.

----

Oh, and I made this topic in part becuase now that the software drought is ending, along with a lot of announcements, much of what I initially wanted with PSP is either here or coming. Games like Worms/Lemmings seem perfect for the thing, orginal games (if they end up being good) like Escape and Loco Roco, and SOCOM. These all make me happy.

Gradius 5.5 (same graphics, old levels + new levels)
Sega Rally 1 + 2 (with 2 containing the DC levels)
A proper version of WE
an FPS akin to Halo with lots of multiplayer goodness
WoW (we can dream!)
ICO game for PSP
Outrun 2
VF4.5

I would be happy with a bunch of scrolling shooters of all varieties.

Oh, a top-down maze/shooter would be cool, too. Like Zombies Ate My Neighbors, only something new.

And an online massive-multiplayer game like Yohoho Puzzle Pirates would be cool, although I doubt I'd play such a thing very much.

I agree with this.

I'd also like a better battery as GTA and the build up to it have accomplished what I think they want...which is me taking my PSP with me to work everyday, etc. as my main portable device. I've started downloading Podcasts and small shows to it, my current favorite music, etc. Now that GTA got me to upgrade I even mess around with the browser and store pictures on it more than I used to.

Oh, and to let the useless viral marketing continue...I'd very much like portable Culdcept!

-More original software
-More online multiplayer games
-More budget/simple software
-Longer lasting battery
-PRICE DROP (I sold my PSP but kept my games to wait for a price drop, stupid eBayer paid me more for my used PSP than he could have bought a new one)

Specific games:

-Final Fantasy PSX collection (FFVII-IX) with sharper visuals
-TimeSplitters w/ online play
-New Treasure platformer/action title
-New Team Ninja action title
-RTS game similar to Pikmin (slower pace, a bit laid back)
-Harvest Moon
-Tecmo Bowl w/ old school design
-Actraiser 3 (w/ 1 and 2 ports unlockable)
-More puzzle games or minigame collections
-Street Fighter 4 w/ online play

it's funny.. I get derided for bashing PSP, yet in this thread I see most people giving the exact same sentiments that I complain about (more original titles, more online titles, etc). just humorous is all (and I agree with you guys).

Ignatz has a nice list. I second the downloadable small games and the keyboard ideas.

I'm waiting for SOMEONE -- maybe it's Sony, maybe not -- to come up with an iTunes-like service for downloading old games. The PSP is clearly an emulation beast -- why not try to license a ton of old games for $2-3 a pop (aka "cell phone prices") and provide a website (browseable from the PSP, of course) to acquire them?

Releasing an official homebrew development kit so that anyone could create executable code would also be outstanding, but I doubt they have that much foresight. (Also, the razor-and-blades reality would mean they'd take a financial hit for encouraging hardware sales without driving a high tie ratio.)

borghe, you DO bash the PSP, and the fact that other people also would like to see it improve doesn't excuse you.

Or, to explain by analogy: PSP fans are like a boyfriend who notices his beautiful, intelligent girlfriend is gaining a little weight, brings it up to her gently and with great love, and goes with her to the gym because he wants to continue dating her. You're the guy who calls her a fat bitch to her face and then gets drunk and hooks up with her ugly, stupid sister at a bar just to prove a point.

that'll teach that FAT ASS PSP!!!

nice

The PSP could release Suikoden 1+2 and I wouldn't need anything else from it.

I could replay those games so many times.

Whats wrong with that.. :D j/k

Borge, it's becuase you are putting the PSP down by virtue of those statements.

I want more original games-- but that doesn't mean I think "PSP sukksorz!!1" Which is how you come off.

You also do it hideously out of context, and generalize your dissatifaction and oversall tastes to others (like your proclomation that PSP only has 4 good games).

Of course you catch shit for it.

more 2d shooters. ports, originals, whatever. the genre is perfectly suited to portables. actually, better to say that the genre is perfectly suited to psp: it's the only portable with enough screen space to comfortably accommodate dense bullet sprays. i keep playing star soldier and sengoku cannon, and neither game is exactly a classic.

Sure, just click the link on the Title Name (Posted Above). All this info came from the latest Game Informer (#151), and I just posted the info/screens from there.

Klonoa game for PSP would be pretty damn awesome.. there's no good platformers on it yet.

Collection of Raizing shooters.

New Alundra.

They are making enough wishes coe true already! GTA, DMC, SMT: Devil Summoner and MGA2 are all being developed for PSP already :D

awesome! You rock dude! You should remove the mag scans cause they are not allowed on this forum. You might be banned so remove them from here.

I'm still waiting on the Atari classics package. It'd better be a straight collection and not a gimmicky travesty like the DS "Retro Classics."

FortNinety said:

Mario 64 DS is an "enhanced port" of a game. Hell the whole Nintendo classics line up (do you really want me to list all of them?) are even direct ports.

Are you seriously saying those 3 games are nothing more then enhanced ports? You're first statement I quoted just absolutely does not fit the PSP. And if those 3 games irritate you enough to make a statement like that about the PSP then you MUST absolutely loathe the other two handheld systems mentioned.

Now your second statement I can agree with and would love to see those type of games. That first one though....yeesh!

Name one NES port that is on the PSP.

Just one.

Edit: Oh god, okay, "Rockman Rockman."

It's expanded, it's portable, and everything about how it sounds and looks is updated. It's also the one NES game on the PSP, which in your mind somehow makes the PSP a NES port repository.

My wishlist has been covered nicely by the above posts, but I have to add:

another analog nub!

God that is such a big design flaw, even bigger than the slow-as-hell optic drive. Soooo many great games could be made that much better by having dual analog on the PSP... why oh why didn't they include one?

Ponn01 said:

Well, that's just the DS for you. I wish it was more than just a dump for old Genesis IP (what with Sonic coming out for it and all).

He did. he may overstate/antagonize a bit, but his desire for new games (or at least games that haven't been done over and over) was pretty clear. I don't see anythign wrong with that.

And Ponn1: I don't recall FortNinety saying that the DS was better in this respect (or in fact, him mentioning the DS at all).

It's not like FortNinety said "there are no good games, they're all ports."

We're so used to these PSP threads being trolled that I think we've gotten a little knee-jerk.
