PStwo dvd setup

Poody

What program do you use to photoshop a picture?
I've setup 16:9 in the Hardware Config screen when the PS2 boots up with no disk. Then, I play a DVD. When the DVD is playing, I go to setup. However, the TV Type is always set to 4:3 letter box, and the Progressive Scan is always set off. There's no other options. I have a 16:9 HDTV. My PS2 is the newer thin model. I have the component cables setup too. Anyone know whats wrong?

The 16:9 option on the boot-up GUI (whatever it's called) has never affected the DVD player settings as far as I know. You have to set your DVD settings in the actual DVD set-up, and make sure you have the same memory card in slot1 whenever you use it so that it loads the settings correctly (at least that's how it works for me, since I don't bother to get the DVD settings copied to each memory card I own).

thats the problem i can't setup the options when the DVD is playing. I bring up the option screen by pressing select on the controller and when i choose video setups the 4:3 letterbox can't be highlighted to change and the progressive option is set to off.

Play a DVD, then STOP the video, set all the options you want (they should be changable now), when you're done, Eject the disc and close the empty tray. I don't know if you have to turn the PS2 off after that (I'd say do it to be on the safe side), but I know that your options settings will not be saved unless you eject the DVD... If you turn the PS2 off without ejecting the disc, the options will be back to their previous setting when you turn it on again, it's written in the console's instructions manual. You only have to do it once.
