PSU site live... 3 in-game screens online

I never pretended to be unbiased. And yes I'm very interested in this game. I'd be very happy if the PS2 looked exactly like this (considering how good Tekken 5 looks I'd go as far as to think this is possible, but this is Sonic Team here, not exactly a proven PS2 dev), but I'd like to know how anyone can argue that an image with a 460 height can be anything but a PS2 render, or a PC image resized strangely.

Cool man.

I mean even I have a hard-time believing that those are PS2 shots but... why not? They aren't in your standard PC resoultion (1024 or higher).
The only thing that really doesn't fit are the textures. No way PS2 can handle that kind of texturing in a RPG game (and I finished both FFXs). It could do it in Tekken 5 but here? I'm not buying it.

Edit: and anti-aliasing means NOTHING. Since Halo 1 every Xbox game shot and every PS2 game shot has artifical anti-aliasing and artifical resolution (PC-like) in promo shots.

I often question BlimBlim's validity, but I'm with him on this. Seems like the PC could scale to that resolution a lot easier than the PS2. And for shots of that LOW of resolution, there's absolutely zero jaggies. I'd be skeptical of those screenshots if people were claiming they were for any current gen console.

Now if those are actual in-game renders of the PS2, it's a hell of a job of aliasing.

You mean anti-aliasing. ;-) One thing is for sure - it's not standard PS2 or PC rez. Well have to wait for my EGM (or somebody else's for that matter) to arrive for the real answer.

Wow this looks great, here's hoping for a PC version here too, only because I don't want to purchase extra items for my PS2, a system I haven't taken online. But if it's my only option that's fine, it's not that much of a hit really. Otherwise this looks awesome.

Oh, I'll buy the PC rev, that much is certain. It is bound to be much better looking, and there'll be HD support. (I'm sure)

Well technically it's not truly PS2 screenshots then. I know it's common practice, but if actual screenshots from end-user PS2's don't look like that, I'd hardly say it should be labeled "PS2 screenshots" by board users. If it's not PC, and it's PS2, but not really PS2, everybody gets a plate of crow.

Man, I really really want this game now. You guys saying it looks PSOish have a point, but it also looks... PS2ish (not the system, either). Which has me really excited.
