I have recently become a huge fan of Qdoba - yet everyone raves about Chipotle where do you guys prefer to get your mexican on?

As a Mexican I don't like either.

But if I had to choose it would be Chipotle because they stick to localy grown ingredients whenever possible.

Chipotle is pretty expensive for fast food. I'd rather take my chances with Taco Bell lol.

A chicken burrito bowl at my local Chipotle is 7.01 after tax...and their burrito bowls are gigantic. I don't consider this expensive.

A challenger appears!

To me they're pretty much interchangeable, a bunch of meat and rice and veggies in a tortilla. It's not like they differ from each other even as much as McDonald's and Burger King.

We have Qdoba and Moe's (no Chipotle). Qdoba has better tasting food and a cleaner eating area. Better service too. Moe's has a messy store with cheap tables and fewer employees but their prices are cheaper.

So, my impressions are:

Qdoba = better but more expensive
Moe's = Not as good but cheaper

When compared to Taco Bell, almost anything is expensive.

I need a fast food place where I can get Tamales damnit, make it happen!

Both are just marginally better than Taco Bell.

Moe's is the best of the chain restaurants, but it's best if you can find a locally owned joint

You get a barbacoa burrito with double meat and guac and try and tell me Chipotle is "marginally better than Taco Bell."

One uses real food, the other uses crusty taco paste.

I prefer Chipotle since the quality of ingredients are much higher, but my wife prefers Qdoba...which means Qdoba wins by default if we're both eating. Otherwise, Chipotle by a country mile!

Sure, but the food quality shoots way up.

Well, 7.01 isn't exactly fast food prices is all. Burritos are naturally fast food because it's just a damn burrito, but you charge 7.01 for it puts it out of Fast Food and into Bistro. Don't blame me man, thems the rules.

Either way, none of the fast food Mexican joints have Tamales, so they can all go to hell.

never had qdobas. wasn't really impressed with chipotle though i've been there like once or twice.

i've recently started to warm up to taco bell after finding it disgusting. though if i'm in the mood for mexican food i'd just ask my mom to cook or go to some taquiera in town.

Well, at Taco Bell I sort of like the more pricey items anyway, and I'd find myself buying at least $7 worth of stuff on a trip there anyway.

Ask your mom to cook. What a life.

I don't mean that as an insult. Would be nice if it was that easy for all of us.

I get a burrito bowl from Chipotle at least a couple times a month. No rice, extra black beans, double meat, guac, and lettuce. Smothered in hot sauce. Makes a good, quick dinner.

This isn't a contest. There was a Chipotle next door to a Qdoba when I went to school, so my friends and I tried taste testing all the time. Qdoba doesn't compare when you have a burrito with like ingredients. Chipotle everytime, unless you are feeling a queso burrito. And to whoever said Moe's: GTFO.

I've had almost every burrito at Chipotle (my wife loves the place), and I stand by my statement. The place is overrated.

Well as I mentioned I prefer Moe's to any of them, but I can see where someone would rather go to Taco Bell, that sugary beef is addictive!

I don't know, those 99 cent chicken flatbreads hit the spot every time they offer them. 89 cent 5 layer burrito is pretty damn tasty as well.

I've only eaten Chipotle a few times and never felt like my 8 dollar burrito was worth it.

Hey, I was a huge Moe's guy until they got rid of the sauce I liked (at my local one anyway, don't know if it's a national thing).

Qdoba Naked Burrito Bowl w/Ancho Chili BBQ Sauce + Double Chicken is godlike. That BBQ sauce is crazy good.

Besides that, Chiptole is my go-to Mexican place.

have you been to mc donalds or burger king lately ? Their food is all around $7

Qdoba, based on the larger menu and them stocking Cholula, the superior hot sauce.

Quality of the burritos are about the same either way. Don't understand the Moe's love, the one that I went to was terrible.

Everyone swings on Chipotle's nuts like it's going out of style. These poor peons simply haven't experienced the orgasm that a Qdoba Ancho Chile or Queso burrito will provide. I seriously do not understand the love for Chipotle at all. The burritos are bland and uninteresting compared to Qdoba.

Oh yeah and Moe's is just terrible.

I've been to Chipotle twice and it was extremely bland both times. Q'doba for me. Ancho Chile BBQ Burrito ftw.

That's like saying Wendy's is better than Five Guys. Sheer madness.

You can get 7 McDoubles for less than 7.01.

wtf is a mc double ?

Even if you go with just the plain burgers you paying 60 cents for each one. And even buying 11 of them for $7 your going to end up with less meat than what you get at chipotle or moe's .

If you go for something bigger like an angus burger your going to be spending at least $5 on the sandwich alone which is still less food than the stuff at chipotle

Only if you get a large. The Large soda at Burger King is so comically large... everytime I see someone get it I wonder if they are actually drinking all that soda or if they're splitting it between four people.

Though, the new BK Chef's Choice burger is totally worth 7 dollars.

Okay, but Wedny's is better than Five Guys.

A McDouble is the dollar menu double cheeseburger.

Marrec, the chef's choice burger is phenomenal and by far the best thing BK has ever had.

The only "good" thing about Five Guys is the chance that you'll get a terrible case of the Pimp Skitters. Look it up.

Yes...YES! Ancho Chile BBQ is stuff of the gods...

How can you be so right about Five Guys and so wrong about Moe's?

Chipotle is superior but I find myself eating at Qdoba more because they have some amazing deals around these parts. For example: Wednesday's are student nights. If you go between 2-8, you can get a burrito and a drink for ~4$ if you show your student ID. It's fantastic!

I had a Moe's breakfast burrito once in the Las Vegas airport which was decent. Earlier this year I went to a newly opened Moe's in my town and got The Homewrecker. Besides them fucking up my order twice, the tortilla also split so they just wrapped another tortilla around it. And the burrito was cold. I'm never going back to Moe's.

Ewww, that does sound gross. Never had a bad burrito at the Moe's by my work, only thing that could be better is the Salsa could be hotter and with more cilantro. And tamales.
