I wonder if its a one way signal or a two way stream? It would be great if he could also get sensation/proprioception with it, but I dunno if anyone's done it before.
 
I don't agree with this kind of shit. God obviously wanted him to be paralyzed from the chest down for a reason. Quit trying to fix everything science.

He still can't feel the hand which is a huge problem and really impedes any sort of practical application (not to mention that the muscles are controlled via another device). Without feeling any sort of pressure on the skin you could easily break/sprain joints trying to manipulate things. Great for brain research I suppose but I think this is the wrong solution as the only real "cure" for this type of injury is going to be through regeneration or cell replacement of the spinal cord at the injury level. Either that or bypassing the injury site allowing the brain access to the spinal cord past the injury level (but still emulating the signals sent through the spinal cord).
