Quantic Dreams Begins Development on a "Competitive Multiplayer Experience" Title - Star Wars: Eclipse Development Still On-Going

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

After years as a single-project studio, we also decided to take a new step. Multiple teams are fully dedicated to crafting the next generation of great games, including something very different, a competitive multiplayer experience, born from the same spirit of curiosity and creativity that has always defined us.

This new title may surprise our fans as it is very different from what we have done so far. But taking risks, challenging ourselves, exploring new ways of playing and telling stories, and attempting what seems impossible, has always been part of our DNA.
Of course, development of Star Wars: Eclipse continues, and we are eager to share more with you in the future.

After Sony dumped them they haven't been able to do much and it has been 7 years at this point.
Competitive and multiplayer when it's questionable they have the know how to make "real" action gameplay even in a sp game does not node well, it was probably imposed by their chinese new owner.

The game was revealed on Dec 10, 2021. The last game Quantic Dream released was Detroit: Become Human back in May 2018. That would mean that this SW games has been in development for seven years now with no end in sight.

Forgot Eclipse was even a thing. Guessing that'll be canned fairly soon.

Sony dodged a bullet by not continuing with Quantic Dream. I guess they had serious doubts after it took QD five years to finish Detroit.

How does one studio go from interactive dramas like they always do and then think "let's work on a live game"?
Wait...how is this studio still alive? Their last game released in 2018 lmao.

Still curious about their Star Wars game though.

That Eclipse trailer is still one of the most satisfying and interesting pieces of media to come out of the Star Wars universe.
I am not a Star Wars fan but the trailer was what I wanted to see more of.

Lol. Best of luck with the multiplayer bit, they are going to need it.

Push X to shoot
come on, if it's like Heavy Rain, you will have to push your right stick forward for every single bullet.

Actually liked Heavy Rains kinda awkward kinda actually fitting controls. And definitely think QD was a much better studio than Supermassive ever was. They pump out those interactive games more often, but so far not one really resonated with me in the slightest. No big horror fan with terribly written characters and just cringe moments every few minutes. Still look very much forward to that SW game and what QD has been cooking so crazy long. Like usual no interest whatsoever in some MP game from whoever though.

Detroit took just four years to develop (2014-2018). From 2012 up until 2014, the studio had been planning out an open-world sci-fi action/adventure game as their first PS4 title and final project in their three-game deal with Sony, but the publisher eventually turned it down in favor of them developing a full game out of the Kara demo.

Likewise, Star Wars Eclipse entered development in early 2020. That's five years in the making, not seven, which so far seems reasonable for what's essentially a new IP in a new genre for them.

Idiotic idea. They finally decide to make a game that features actual gameplay mechanics....and they make F2P MP bullshit. Jesus wept.

The real funny thing is that Steam is filled with popular games that are worse than this parody concept.

These mofos haven't released a single game in 6 years and they think it's a great idea to split their team?
