Cult American director Quentin Tarantino is making a new action film entirely in the Chinese Mandarin language. The film will be an homage to the 1970s low-budget 'chopsocky' kung-fu genre, which Tarantino is a long-time admirer of. He is planning two versions, one with English subtitles and another dubbed into English, deliberately badly, as a nod to the original 'chopsocky' films. He tells British movie magazine Total Film, "My next movie is gonna be another kung fu film that's gonna blow your a*ses off. The next movie will be in Mandarin. I enjoyed shooting all the Japanese stuff in Kill Bill so much that this whole film will be entirely in Mandarin. If you're not up to watching it with subtitles, I really want to do a full-on dubbed version." The film, which will begin production next year, replaces Inglorious Bastards, a Second World War epic Tarantino has in the pipeline.

I'll just watch a real, quality martial arts film instead of another goofy parody "homage," thanks
Some of the HK parody films are awesome, latest one I watched was a total rip up at Infernal Affairs which was huge in Hong Kong. Could not stop laughing, heck even some of the cast of the original movie played some of their roles in the parody. Granted some of them are just plain stupid but they do the job.

I don't care just as long as QT doesn't take his sweet ass time in making this one. The gap between Jackie Brown and Kill Bill was torture. ;)

what about Inglorious Bastards? Or the Vega Bros. movie? or the Bond flick? or the Kill Bill prequel? Translation: QT likes to talk. I'll believe what his "next movie" is when im sitting in the theatre watching it.

From today's IMDB.com update!
Pierce Brosnan might yet again star as James Bond after all. The Associated Press reported Monday that he has been in discussions with Quentin Tarantino about starring in a film version of Casino Royale, the only Bond novel that is not controlled by MGM and the Brocolli estate. (It had previously been filmed as a Bond spoof.) "We have discussed things, Quentin and I, but I don't know if it's going to be that particular project," Brosnan told the A.P. He also endorsed fellow Irishman Colin Farrell to succeed him as Bond in the MGM franchise.

Casino Royale with Tarantino and Brosnan attached would be an absolutely killer project. Tarantino needs to get his priorities straight and get on that as his smaller film before Inglorious Bastards.

THIS would be totally awesome. A Tarantino Casino Royale? Sounds like a perfect match to me.

This is pretty old news, and I think it's been denied a couple of times. They're probably just using an old Brosnan quote. His endorsing of Colin Farrel is new however.

I hope he's too arrogant to realize his movies need to be cut like anyone else's and makes 2 shitty movies instead of one good one. Again.
