Question about 360 Pre-Orders

So I put down $50 at EBGames in the mall for my Xbox 360 not long ago. Then after I left, it occured to me that I didn't clarify wether or not I wanted the hard-drive system. Then I realized they never asked.

I called them up and told them who I was and that I wanted to make sure they had me down for the hard-drive pack. I guess he said they did so I stopped worrying about it.

Now I'm thinking back to the PS2 launch. I remember how you could only get one if you committed to buying two or three games, an extra controller, and one or two memory cards along with whatever other crap they might have possibly wanted to force you into buying. Anyone think they'll do that shit again with the 360? I guess since I pre-ordered mine under the impression I was just getting the system, I feel like its too late for them to pull that shit on me now. Then again, big business are some slimy motherfuckers and I wouldn't put it past them to try and spring it on me. I dunno.

What about the rest of you? Have any of you been asked to commit to a certain number of extra items along with the system, or has it been strictly for the console so far? Thoughts?

I asked that ? specifically when I pre-order my 360 @ EB and they said "No, you will not have to buy any bundle"

Ugly.

My EB called me Friday to ask which SKU should they put my 50 bucks towards.

my eb said all the preorders were automatically bumped to the 399 sku. they figure if youre die hard enough to preorder, you prolly want the premium bundle. they arent forcing bundles either

Same with my GameStop.

This totally goes along with what I was saying in another thread. The bundle will be plentiful at launch and the core pack will be hard to find. MS is already telling retailers, which is why they are automatically changing your deposit to the $399 bundle.

I know people in a few cities and they've told me that a lot of stores in their area aren't even carrying the core pack.
