Question about NHL 2K6 and something else..

1 - Take 2 is publishing. I'm positive that Kush Games is still the developer, which is all anyone should be concerned about.

2 - FUCK NO

Thx for the blog link.

there's also videos and screenshots at the 2k6 page. top shelf tuesday has gone on a couple weeks without anyone realising oops

I love how they had the football announcers do the tutorial videos. :lol

wonder if they'll ever get another game for them to do pbp on though.

Are the new rule changes from the strike settlement going to make it into the Xbox360 version? This game was the primary reason I pre-ordered the system. Being that the other console versions are coming out pretty much within a month, I don't think they would have all the rule changes. But since Xbox 360 has at least another month of development over its other versions, I hope they implement it.

I don't know about elements such as moving the net 2 feet closer to the boards, but you can always turn off the 2-line pass and increase penalty calls for interference to the max.

i was just wondering about this game today after seeing good scores for NHL 2006. i've always loved the 2K hockey games, but i was slightly disappointed by 2K5. hopefully 2006 really is good so there's some competition going on (but i really doubt it is).

OXM has their heads entrenched firmly up their asses when it comes to hockey. They gave NHL 2005 an 8.5, and it was one of the worst sports games ever created. I'll be playing both games and judging myself before I trust their feedback on anything hockey-related.

PLEASE GOD, allow more than 2 player games over Live. PLEASE. That was MORONIC with NHL 2K5. I got some friends to buy it because it says 1-4 players, online, right on the box.

When we go to play it, we find out, yeah you can do 2v2 matches, but only with your teammate on the same Xbox as you! Too bad we are all in different cities.

LAME!

MARTY TURCO??

The second part doesn't really emulate the NHL, though, because instead of players adjusting to the change in officiating, you're just going to get tons of interference penalties. :\

So I hope they adapt the game to all the new rules and changes.

Why oh why is Marty Turco on the cover of this game?

Because he's a fan of the series, and helped do the goalie mo-cap. Are they good enough reasons? IMO they are but I'm sure many people will disagree.

I just can't get over Bob Cole and Harry Neal doing the commentating. ARGH! It's gonna suck big time!

Plus, I really hope the 360 version looks a lot better. I doubt it...but I still hope it. :P

The only practical reason to put a particular player on the cover, as far as I'm concerned, is to draw attention to it and help sell the game. Marty Turco won't do that. Especially since most people will really only see 'Dallas Stars goaltender' rather than the man himself.

2K6 will be $20 US once again. From GameSpot.
With everything else about the NHL a far cry from the way it was a year ago--thanks to a new collective bargaining agreement and the high-stakes game of superstar musical chairs known as free agency--it's nice to see some things remain the same.

To little surprise, 2K Games today announced that the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of its hockey sim NHL 2K6 would carry the same $19.99 price tag as its 2K5 predecessor.

Somewhat more surprising is the announcement that 2K6 will sport different cover athletes depending on where you buy it. American copies of the game will feature Dallas Stars netminder Marty Turco, while Canadian and European versions will sport the Swedish-born Toronto Maple Leafs captain Mats Sundin.

Check out GameSpot's Spot On feature for more on NHL 2K6 and how the league's recent turmoil has affected development of all major hockey games this year.
I know a bunch of people here are going to hate Mats on the cover but I really hope it's him sporting his new look. :lol

So 2k6 won't have the rule changes? Not even available through a XBL download? Looks Like I'll be playing 2k5 for another year. Although I might pick up 2k6 someday before 2k7, just so I can play the season with injuries on :( .

"We've been working closely with the NHL and also with the NHLPA and they were trying to get us info on what the rules would be," Bishop said. "Even before they made their announcement, we had a list of expected changes."

That's the NHL 2K6 manager

Franchise mode in both NHL 06 and NHL 2K6 won't have the salary cap either because it would take them too long to implement
