Question about ps3/x360 video output support...

Just a simple question... Has it been confirmed that they both will support direct VGA output? Meaning I could take my 19 inch 1080p compatible crt viewsonic monitor and connect it (w/out having to go through any additional hardware) to the consoles? And if so, will the x360 automatically change the monitor res to 1080i?

Cause if so, I can sleep well knowing I can enjoy hdtv gaming while waiting for the nano tubes to take hold. :)

Thanx. :)

btw, will the above setup (if it works) produce better quality gaming than a standard sony 23 inch flatscreen tv?

There have been pic of Xbox360 VGA adapters, so thats official. I'd assume resolution is something that would be set in the 360's dashboard.

I'm actually thinking about picking up one of those 23" samsung monsters because my current LCD has a very annoying dead pixel right in the middle of the screen, and i'm not so sure i want to put a 46+" DLP in a bed room.

Actually... now that I think about it, don't most LCDs have either VGA (analog) OR DVI (digital)?

We know PS3 supports HDMI/DVI, I don't know if there has been any mention of VGA.

I need something that works for the vga adapter's audio to somehow go into the line-ins of my laptop. I really don't know what to buy to make that happen. Any help will be greatly appreciated

ye I know it supports those outputs, but I hope it also supports VGA....

Hmm, actually, speaking of audio, w/ a monitor, Im guessing you would have to buy separate speakers and connect them that way. Im wondering if computer speakers work w/ consoles?

And if so, will the x360 automatically change the monitor res to 1080i?

Can your monitor handle 1080i? What kind of monitor is it? I thought most PC monitors only support non-interlaced resolutions?
