Question about PStwo blue disks

Damn I was just wondering half a hour ago if black PSOne discs are any more "stressful" on the PS2 laser than other kinds of discs?

It works for my big ps2 bu it isnt exactly and H its more like this |o| the o being the middle of the discs and the | being the tape

Eventually, I called Sony, sent them my PS2, and they "fixed" it for free (though I paid shipping there). All was grand for two months. Well, except that I had two copies of Wizardry PS2 that now worked. (Which could be worse given how ridiculously awesome the game is.) But then, after a few months, the problem came back.
Called Sony, paid to ship it to them again. They "fixed" it once more, for "free". This time, it worked for a month.
Finally, I caved, bought the HDLoader, installed the blue disc games to the HDD, and never had a problem again.
What I'm saying is that in many cases, the failure of blue discs to load (it may only be 1 game now, but...) can very well be the beginning of the end of the PS2.
Every non-blue disk works. I'll just cut my losses on those games.
I've played ICO (2001), Klonoa 2 (2000), and Jak and Daxter (2001) with zero problems. I've also had not one disk read error, amazingly.
If the PStwo stops reading disks on a regular basis, I'll consider using the warranty once. If it happens again, I'm pitching the damn thing out the window. (not literally)

Oh, I didn't know that. Anyway, I might look into it, but I have no intention of backing up non-purchased games. I had an Xbox, and that was even more of an option. I bought the PStwo because of the inexpensive library, and at least for now, I can afford the games. I just want them to work.

Btw, this system isn't choking on the disk. I've seen PS2's do that. For example, my friend's old PS2 (right before it died) used to do the "Reading...Reading...Reading" thing in the bootup screen. What happens here is just On, then two seconds later there's the red screen. The disk still spins. I just don't think it's compatible with this disk for whatever reason.
So far I've played 2000 games, 2001 games, 2003 games, 2004 games, 2005 games, demo disks, CDR's, CDRW's, and DVD's on the system. No problems at all.

Thanks sykoex for the clarification pic. I assumed people would know what I was trying to say when I referred H as I"-"I in the place of IoI when placing the tape on top of the disc. But I can see how that can be confusing at first. Typo's comment is also true to some effect with the PS2 spinning the cd-based games faster than DVD ones so the tape adds a bit of grip/weight to the disc. I would also like to point out that it has to do with how Contra: SS was pressed as a CD. Tekken Tag, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and Gradius V all read okay on my boss's PS2 but Contra didn't without the tape remedy.
