Question about the Micro/DSLite dpad

I've tried the Micro of a friend myself but I've played it for a short time (20 min.) and the game was Super Mario Advance 4 so I didn't use the dpad to its fullest. The reason I'm worried about the dpad is because my first game are going to be those game for the gba
-King of fighters EX2
-Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper
-Super Street Fighter Revival

Does the new "design" dpad is great for the fighting genre?

The new dpad is sex. Best d-pad since Saturn.

This dpad is the ultimate dpad for handheld fighting games, you will not be dissapointed, its smooth and feels like gel under your hands..

BTW: How is super street fighter revival.. i serisouly need to know if this game is good or not.. its sitting used at my local store (import dur) and i was so tempted to buy it the other day.

I really hope it's a good dpad for fighting, not the GBA/GC one, which was uber crap!!! That's where my worry come from

The game itself is Super Street Fighter Turbo II, which is my fav of the SFII series. I was going to buy it but I've heard that there are a lot of bug in this game in the US version. I don't know if it's the same of the import but I might buy the import version as well. Someone here in gaf said the bug was about some slowdown and that the game crash when you unlock akuma but im not sure

Wait a sec... I've heard many times that the new Micro d-pad, which I guess is the new upcoming DS Lite one, was not that great. That it had problems with the center for some reason... anyone know what I'm speaking of?

I thought the "center" problems were with the redesigned/"NEW BRIGHTER SCREEN" SPs.

Micro d-pad is no problem at all

The Micro, DS Lite, and Revolution Dpads should all be more or less identical in their mechanics (the Micro's is obviously black and not white), and if my brief playtime with the micro is any indication, then the DSl and Rev should both be well off (especially in contrast with GameCube--way to go from worst dpad on the market to best)

And even this was something with the initial batches and the problem has been fixed, correct?

The GBm d-pad, as stated earlier, is definitely the best I've ever used since the Saturn.

The GBA SP v2 dpad problem was a flaw with some units, and not a manufactured feature change. NoA replaced my SP v2 when I complained about it, and my new one works exactly like the original SP dpad worked.

It's not very good IMO. The graphics and sound are top notch, but the controls aren't near as tight as the SNES/Genesis/3DO/Saturn counterparts due to button limitations.

Graphics and sound are fine. Music is destroyed. US version has rampant slowdown, ridiculously easy AI, and a fatal bug that will prevent you from ever actually fighting Akuma instead of Bison. It got to a point that even at the highest difficulty level, I HAD to go out of my way to lose a round or two in order to guarantee that Akuma wouldn't show up in lieu of Bison, for the last fight. Ridiculous.

Also, the time trials and whatnot get glitched, permanently. The "high scores" tend to glitch and save at 0 seconds, or so, making them totally unbeatable. No way to reset the cart, IIRC. In short, a complete hack job.

Crawfish's SFA3 Upper is infinitely better.

aahhh....then I need something else to play. I'm thinking about Puyo Puyo And Super Puzzle Fighter & Metal Slug Advance. How do they hold up in comparaison with their console original versions?

I found it difficult to perform charge supers (such as Charlie's), but otherwise the Micro dpad is great (360 moves easier to perform here).

Metal Slug is a lot of fun. If you can find it at Toys R' Us, it's $10. I have Puyo Pop Fever for the DS and GCN, so it lost a little value the second time around. If you know a bunch of people with DS's though, it's supposed to have really good multiplayer. My girlfriend has a DS, but we already play the GCN version. If it's your first time with Fever, it's a must buy if only for Fever mode.

DS Lite has the Micro D-pad? Where the fuck do I sign up?! I love my Micro. The only thing that bothers me about it is that the body is metal, so it's cold to the touch and my fingers (which are almost always very warm) create condensation around the buttons and D-pad.

Uh, have you ever looked at the Revolution? Not sure if the body is metal, but the glossy surface brings in those nasty finger prints. I like the silver faceplate cause its not glossy plastic or whatever.

I have a Famicom Micro. The faceplate is metal.

I have the Famicom faceplate as well. It's just like the black faceplate.

The black one is metal too? Did not know that.

At any rate, I'm not sure why you brought up the Rev... it's not a handheld, so you're not going to be in constant contact with it. The remote is another story of course.

There's a dpad on the remote ya know.

i snagged the import of super street fighter revival used sitting at my local game store for like 20 bucks.. not so bad.. had box instructions everything..

Im loving it.. =]

I find it weird how the names are different.. Balrog = M. Bison and M. Bison = Vega and what not.. :lol

I have a GBm and have played demo DSLites available in Japan. The GBmicro D-pad is sex. The D-pad on DS-lite is still sex, but felt ever so slightly less solid (weightwise). Still miles better than the crap they pushed on GBSP and first gen DS.

The GBm buttons are polished, while the DSLite are slightly brushed. Mechanics are identical. You will love it.
