So in a moment of weakness and a lack of regular comics today I picked up the new issue of Amazing Spidey today despite my hatred of how Marvel is now changing the characters to fit the movies when it should be the other way around.

What are the "main" monthly Spidey books now? Amazing and Spectacular?

Is the new Marvel Knights Spidey book part of the main continuity?

What is Araña?

The main ones are Amazing, Spectacular, and Knights. As for Araña I've seen it a few times but never bothered with it since I'm not really much of a Spidey fan in the first place.

I don't see what you're talking about. Amazing and Ultimate Spidey are two of the best comics on the shelf right now and they are in no way trying to make Amazing more like the movies.

X-Men, I guess a little, but it's easy to forgive with stuff like Astonishing around. What are examples of Marvel doing this?

Two words: ORGANIC WEBSHOOTERS.

Currently there are 3 Spiderman titles: Amazing Spiderman, Marvel Knights Spiderman, and Ultimate Spiderman. Soon there will be a new title by Peter David called "Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman".

Currently Spiderman is a member of the Avengers. Aunt May and Mary Jane now live with him in the new Avengers Tower. The current storyline in Amazing has been pretty good. Just ignore the godawful "Sin's Past" storyline from a few months ago.

Spider-girl is set in an alternate future where Peter and Mary Jane raised their daughter, May. May discovers that she has similar powers as her father and now fights crime as Spider-girl. Its a great series.
