I've not really watched any of their animated shows. The zombie stuff feels played out at this point too.

I think they're doing their own thing. They had a zombie episode in the first What If Season, and now they have this 4 parter.

From season 1, which was made for a TV-PG rating, the new one is TV-MA

I didn't like Marvel Zombies, DCeased was a better story IMO. Marvel Zombies just felt like it was all just shock value.
