granted I haven't been following this super closely, but I've had a little trouble finding information as to how the Switch 1 will be integrated into the Switch 2

I recall someone mentioning it might work similar to a Wii U controller on the Switch 2. is that confirmed?

This was a leak / rumor, but it turned out to be false. The leaker misinterpreted how the Switch 1 could communicate wirelessly with the Switch 2 and send its screen data, turns out that's just for the new chatting feature.

I currently have a launch Switch and an OLED. The OG is hooked up by my exercise bike and my OLED is connected to my TV. I'm just planning on moving the OLED to the basement by my exercise equipment and hooking the OG up at my Mom's house for my kids and nieces to play when they're over there. She has my old Wii U right now that the Switch will replace. I guess the Wii U will just get packed away in my basement.

it functions like a Wii U gamepad with the Switch 2 in some games, so I'll keep it for that... unless the latency sucks too hard, then I might sell it.

I've got the Tears of the Kingdom Switch and I do like the design, so I'll probably just display it somewhere with my other gaming stuff.

Pre-order for Switch 2 is secured, so I sold my Switch 1 since it'll depreciate in value closer to the Switch 2 release date.

I have been paying attention. I think they're trying to nerf the secondhand market by encouraging loyalty. I'll see what they bring.

Planning to sell it once I find an interested buyer.
Since the S2 is backwards compatible I don't really have a reason to keep it.

Selling it and getting a Switch Lite (for portablility) once the clearance sale kicks in as I won't be needing a docked Switch 1 ever again. Then getting a Switch 2 down the road, hopefully after the OLED version comes around.

Edit: I'm an idiot who clearly can't read.

I'm a bit undecided. Problem is I have 3 switches in my house and now a switch 2. I'll likely give the OLED to one of the kids, sell off the launch switch. Though I need a replacement shell as the original one cracked and I haven't found a good replacement online.

I like how Switch 1 plays Switch 1 games natively, without mandatory update on a game-by-game basis to even attempt running the game. So that's a pretty good good start

I'm giving it to my wife because she always wanted a normal Switch, she's gonna give her Lite one to a nephew and keep that one, now the thing is she fell in love with my Switch 2 and I think I'm getting another soon and then I won't know what to do with the other Switch lol. Maybe use it for YouTube while working or something.

Keeping it, there are games I'm keeping on my Switch 1 like some indie titles that don't get any advantage being on Switch 2 and Switch games that ran stable so I don't need to take up space on my Switch 2 for them (Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros, and Paper Mario TTYD for examples).
