D Doom_Bringer Banned Feb 24, 2005 #2 Ace Combat V supports wide screen, Ace Combat IV doesn't. However Ace Combat IV is a better game compared to ACV. But both games are really good! Two of the best on PS2 IMO.

U Uncle Dukey Member Feb 24, 2005 #4 Ace Combat 4 & 5 NTSC support 16:9, but neither supports progressive scan. You have to turn the 16:9 mode on in the display menus.

Comparing AC4 to AC5 is like comparing VF4 standard arcade mode to EVO's Quest kumite mode in terms of sheer depth. That's good to know; I had no idea either supported it. 480p would have been nice but just the wider field of view sounds worth trying out someday.

W Warm Machine Member Feb 24, 2005 #7 The movie sequences in Ace Combat V look pretty bad in the 16:9 mode. They were made with 4:3 in mind and then stretched out to fill the anamorphic 16:9 frame. I played through the game in 4:3 mode instead because of this.
