Assuming Seymour Hersh's report that the US is conducting reconnaissance missions in Iran (leading to air strikes/invasion/war at some point) is right, do you think the journalist should have made this story public?

Would you have done the same in his place or would your patriotism have stopped you from publishing?

Seriously! If there's one thing I've gathered from the current administration, it's this: Get while the getting's good! This guy deserves respect for outing the report! It's part of his journalistic duty to inform the good people of America if something is going on! So what if he blows the lid on 'covert' operations? As if anyone in Iran won't notice the guys with guns in humvees whipping around the rocky terrain.

Good for him! I hope he makes editor!

most are right...

haha hahahaha

If I were a journalist? Conservatives aren't allowed to be journalists .. but let's say it was actually the case and I found this out...

I would scoop it. But I would be vague about certain sensitive elements of the story, of course. I wouldn't want to be responsible for the deaths of any of our personnel.

But then again, I'm not a journalist.. I don't have any desire to be.. I don't have it in my blood.. It's not me so I'm just really guessing as to what my gut feeling would be at the time, especially if I feared that someone was going to scoop me on it.

But these people are violating another country's borders. That's not ethical either.

They're doing it by order of their superiors. Not really their fault....

They can say no. Of course, they shouldn't have joined the military in the first place if they were to say no. I suspect that they may agree with being in Iran anyways.
