Does it ever bother you how dangerous they are? I have a friend whos dad was in a motorcycle accident and he's completely paralyzed from the neck down and can barely talk. Now, I realize that something like that could happen even to someone who's in a car, but your chance of getting injured on a motorcycle makes it MUCH bigger. So, do you REALLY think it's worth the risk?

Of course not, but my dad rode motorcycles for 10 years anyway...

The problem is that a lot of bike riders are stupid. They weave in and out of traffic, stunt on the freeway, and abuse the power of bikes in general. Couple that with the already ignorant drivers on the road and it's a recipe for disaster.

My father has rode bikes ever since he was a teenager and has only injured himself once or twice on dirt bikes and once on the road. If you drive under the guidelines of the law and use some common sense, they can be as safe as driving a car, pending certain weather conditions.
