In my case there may be a good use for the X-Box 360 Core Pack. I'm sure I'll be able to walk into any store here in Tokyo on launch day and pick up a 360. However, because its almost a given that the unit will have regional lockouts I also plan on getting a US unit for convenience sake. I'm currently trying to decide which US unit (probably the Premium because it will almost definitely be cheaper in the US than here in Japan) to buy.

The question is will 360 accessories be region locked? If I buy a Premium pack from one region and a core pack from another region can I simply take the HDD back and forth between units as I play? I gues the same question applies to the wireless controller since I suppose it could be using slightly different frequencies between regions.

Anyone know anything about this?

Sorry I have no informations about the region locking of accessories. But I would not be surprised if Xbox 360 was actually quite cheaper in Japan than in the US.

If u find out anything could you let me know? I emailed Microsoft and didn't even get an automated reply which is really weird....

I almost never get any information from Japan, but I'll try asking around.
I don't doubt MS will announce everything for Japan at the TGS, or maybe a bit before. I've heard there is something planned for September 9 from MS there, but I have no idea what it is.

I don't think there is region locking on the accessories, but I'm not certain.
