Questions about Dungeon Siege 2???

We're doing this interview for Dungeon Siege 2 tomorrow.

There comes a time in many a game journo's busy schedule when rank laziness sets in and you find yourself with an interview to do and nothing clever to ask. So rather than ask shit like "so hey, what inspired you guys" and "erm, so, thoughts on next gen?" I wanted to check and see if there are any fans here (noticed there were some other topics) and if so, whether you have any questions regarding the sequel? I gather a beta version is out, maybe stuff related to that or something? Any help will be appreciated!

"Many critics complained of 'tunnel vision' when playing the original. Despite the seamless loads and apparently large world, the gameplay and exploration were fairly linear. What are you doing to address this critical issue in the long-awaited sequel?"

"Did you get Jeremy Soule to do the soundtrack for this one (like the original) or is it someone new?"

Will there also be maps more like the multiplayer map in the original DS?

my friends and i thought this map was superior to the singleplayer map.

Hmmmm, i've got Legend of Aranna on top of my monitor as we speak...i think i'll reinstall and eagerly await DS 2.

Couple of very important quesitons about DS2:

1) Many critics of the original Dungeon Siege often complain-and rightly so-that "Dungeon Siege is the game that plays itself"-basically, panning the way the game controlled the one differentiating aspect of the game from its genre contemporaries-multiple party members, almost to the point of "playing itself". This made the game very uninteresting because then it devolved, in effect, to a standard single-character slashfest on training wheels with pretty graphics and mediocre itemization. How has this changed in Dungeon Siege 2?

2) Are you doing anything to better script encounters and provide other forms of player challenge (puzzles, scripted timered sequences) that are common in other genres of action RPG titles to break away from the extremely-tired "kill steady stream of baddies and grab loot, kill occasional boss" that has stagnated this RPG subgenre ever since the release of Diablo 2.

Off for some sleep and will print this off in the morning. :)

You killed your own thread, dude. How'd the interview go?

Haha, yes I kinda did. I checked it after 5 hours sleep and there was nothing new though!

Erm, it went well, we're hoping to publish it very shortly as a text (not video) interview.

That is what I'd ask too. I love his work. He did the soundtrack for Guild Wars and it is better than what he did in DS (to me).
