Depends on the angle at which you're viewing it, in my experience--they're equally bright, but depending on how you tilt the console, one screen seems brighter than the other.
It seems to be common, yes. Though I am not entirely appraised of the deal with that thing being darker/brighter, it seems to be that scratch resistant stuff?
No wait... let me ask again. They seem to differ in color, and the TOP screen seems slightly darker than the bottom screen. I notice it when the health screen appears.
That's an angle thing, most likely. If you were to face both screens from exactly the same angle, they should look almost identical (save for the scratch resistant coating on the bottom screen, of course.)
