Well, I want a gig. The RAM I have in here is borrowed, 2 256 sticks; going back to the owner as soon as I get the new sticks.

So, the question is, what's going to be faster? Two 512 PC 3200 sticks set to dual-channel, or one 1 gig stick?

Well, 2 sticks would be marginally faster. But I'd recommend getting a single 1GB stick and then a second when you need to upgrade again.

You can't do dual channel with a single stick. If you have a dual channel RAM mobo, might as well put in two sticks.

Yeah, that's basically what I was looking for. I have four slots, and I don't plan on getting more than this any time soon, so I'll go for 2 512s. Thanks.
