Radiata Stories: Anyone Excited?

I'm going to pass on it for now. If it gets some major GAF love (the most jaded group of gamers anywhere), then I just might give it a go in the future.

Same. Unless people march on here with "they learned where they went wrong with SO3", DDS2 it is for me. Reviews have been favorable, but a few sources mention Jack Russel was annoying and childish, and that the VA was mediocre, too. Has this been impeding anyone's game time who's going thru it already?

Its susposed to be pretty funny, I like funny RPG's so count me in :D

I was very excited until I realized I don't have the time to spend on an RPG these days. It looks like a blast, though, I can't wait to hear some more impressions on it.

So the stores got it in? That's good to know. Going to go pick mine up after class today.

Any word on the Digital Devil Saga 2 soundtracks?

AFAIK, Gamestop's poster is the only promo out there. Square isn't even giving antyhing out if you purchase from their online store. Still, it seems like it's quite the poster.

It has Lenneth, aka one of the best characters ever in a videogame!

BUY! BUY! BUY! BUY! BUY!

Now if only I had money.... Sigh.

1UP's review is out, 7.5.

Other reviews will hit tomorrow, including my take on the matter, but ferricide does a nice job of summing things up there.

Recruitable. And getting her requires basically doing everything in the game :P

Correct me if I'm wrong but you only have the one playable character, but there's a tonne of NPCs that become AI controlled battle partners (not all at the same time though)? There's no control over any other characters but the main one at all?

You are correct sir. The battle system is a huge disappointment considering it's a Tri-ace title :/

Damn excited, but I think I'm gonna wait a bit before picking it up, I need to find a chunk of free time before I dive in.

Very cool. That review just sold me on this. I was already liking the look of it quite a bit, but that description sounded right up my alley.

I haven't played an RPG in a long time, and my fancy when it comes to the genre lies most often in the more light-hearted, charming, traditional afairs. Thanks ferricide.

Anyway, anybody know about how long this game is? A simple "long" or "not too long" will work.

Lenneth looks a lot like she did in SO3. She was no problem to kill, it was that bitch Freya that I could never tame.

About 20/25 hours for one ending, and about 10 more for the other. The game makes it extremely obvious where the story branch is, so the trick is to keep a save right before that branch.

Will there be an option to disable the VA like there was in SO3?
Yup.

Gonna go play cards tonight, if i win i'll buy this on release day. If not i wait little bit till i have some money to burn :lol.

BuddyC is that 20/25 collecting all the characters or just the main storyline?

Main storyline. Collecting all the characters will take up a lot of time - a bit less so if you have a strategy guide, but a significant chunk nonetheless.

Thanks for the info. I may end up getting this on release day regardless of my outcome tonight, i'm a sucker for sidequests :lol.

Getting this at release... it's a shame it couldn't have come out this past Wed - I'd have had a nice 4 day weekend to play through it. Ohhh well, I'm really hyped for it, and at this point I think I'm one of the few who is. Could be another cult classic and it'll be a great way to hold me over till DQ8.

This game, Soul Calibur III and Dragon Quest VIII are big reasons I'm buying a PS2 even though I have very little time to play anything. So yeah, I'm pretty excited.
