Every ****ing music thread Diablos starts turns into a SP-hate driven shitfest.

What's the ****ing point in comparing the two bands? Who really gives a shit? Just because the moron who wrote the article put that tracklist in there? Christ.

Yeah, had I known some Radiohead/indie/whatever people would have reacted the way they did I would have taken that part out of the quote. I really didn't want this to turn into SP vs. Radiohead, they're both great bands to me.

OK fine I'll stop I was just teasing anyway. But seriously there's more notes out there than Cadd9 ;P

for the record I think SP is the third best thing (behind Nirvana and Sublime) to come out of the Alt scene

You should know by now that people on going to jump on that. Especially when it's posted by you.

Billy has written music using more notes than Cadd9. Also, the Pumpkins would often re-arrange many songs for the live show, across various tours, numerous times.

But as far as similar notes go, you could say the same thing about a huge chunk of Radiohead songs, especially Amnesiac and HTTT. Every song sounds very similar. And the new ones they are performing, while awesome, do still have that same kind of sound to them.

Not really. I was just posting some Radiohead news and figured we'd all have a nice discussion about it. Seriously. Why should I hold back on posting something harmless just because other people want to troll me? You can't live life like that.

Okay, this thread is now the "Official What's Your Favorite Pablo Honey Song?" thread.

Since I can't pick just one, how about three?

Blow Out, Prove Yourself, Anyone Can Play Guitar.

Ah hell, the whole album is great. I never thought any less of it than their others. It's just different. It perfectly captures that time for me.

It's a toss-up between "Anyone Can Play Guitar", "Ripcord", "Blow Out", and "Jason likes the drummer from Man Man's ass".

Discussion of two bands.

One is dead (there is a god), and the other is on a good pace headed there.
They're not dead, they're in the studio.

Also, Radiohead probably has a good 3 - 5 years to go.

Anyone actually defending Thom Yorke's solo album should turn in their "music fan" badge now and get it replaced with a "pathetic fanboy" sweatshirt. The album really, really sucks -- deal with it. Oh, so has Radiohead for the last 9 ****ing years.

I have a joke: What do you call Smashing Pumpkins fans when they go to university and learn what real art music is?

Radiohead fans

It's funny because it's true
Oh, seriously, do tell how Radiohead qualifies for "real art music?" Mr. Yorke isn't fit to cup Ephrim Menuck's balls in his hand. And if you really have to go to Uni to find out about Radiohead, you're too dumb and lazy to even pretend to know what "art music" is or supposed to be -- and no, having spooky album art doesn't cut it.
