I really need to clamp down on my cookie allowances. I mentioned being an ex-Catholic once on Reddit or someplace and now I keep seeing Mark Wahlberg ads for the Hallow app on Twitter.

if you don't want reddit tracking you then go into your account settings and make sure you untick all the tracking shit. they will not only use your reddit content/activity but will follow you if you visit other sites. they will also put all your posts on search engines. they'll sell your data to other sites and will use other sites profile of you to customise what they show you on reddit.

of course, as long as you have a reddit account they'll still track you to a certain degree so it's best not to have an account at all but you should definitely make sure you haven't left on the tracking settings in your account.

i deleted my reddit account last year and now only lurk without logging in and i use old.reddit.com as it has way less trackers:

the red icon with the blue numbers is the adblocker. new reddit has 39 more tracking elements. the icon on the right shows that new reddit is blocking 6 cookies. old reddit doesn't use any cookies so it's blue.

After gaming on Xbox then switching to Nintendo Switch my brain always needs a 10 minute period to adjust because the "A" & "B" buttons are reversed (On the Nintendo pro controller).

I wind up cancelling stuff I don't want to and accepting or moving forward when I don't want to.

My brain is old and stupid 😀

Nah that's normal! Blame Xbox and Nintendo for not having the same button layout!

Can you imagine if each phone manufacturer made different icons for canceling/answering calls?

Wouldn't make sense would it?

It would be a crime against humanity and if people found out it was you you'd be dead a bit quicker than every one else and it'd be much more violent.

I haven't been myself. I feel like a nobody. The days just keep coming, with no changes worth talking about. It's the same...same loneliness, same feelings of worthlessness. I feel invisible. I feel crazy. I don't know who to open up to anymore. I want to cry yet the tears aren't rolling down yet?

It's both wondrous and scary what the AI tools have been achieving lately. I use to think, "well that's cool but can AI create original pieces with an understanding of composition?" Boom, DALL-E 2 can create 10 original works of art within 10 seconds. To me, what DALL-E 2 does is far more impressive than Github Copilot and I was quite impressed with Github Copilot. I can imagine a pseudocode -> complete source code to be possible within the next 10 years (well, for the more common/simpler things anyway, obviously it won't code your own Tesla autonomous driving system).

They're not blind? Just hypersensitive to light and that could make them blind. Like you coming from a decade in a cave and heading into the light could blind you.

Ah, I had never bothered to research it. It was just kind of always a thing we were told when we were young.
