GTFO, gonna have to wait for the PS6 to get a proper Ratchet game and it's going to be used as nothing more than a tech demo for the hardware aren't I?

Was hoping for a new Ratchet and Clank game since it's still the best Insomaiac game as well as one of the top best Playstation game but got no interest in mobile. Looks like a real Monkey's Paw situation.

Something I can hopefully use with my brand new Razor Kishi V3 on my Brand spankin new iPhone 17 Pro Max.
I've been waiting for the PS3 Ratchet and Clank games to come to PC, but looks like that is never going to happen. :(
I'm thinking about taking all my PS3 disks to the local Mom and Pop, Maybe someone can fix my PS3.

edit-It's a multiplayer game. :(

Insomniac is doing nothing but super hero garbage now until 2030 or 2032 if that leak was correct for when a new mainline R & C game would come from them LMAO

This is the worst timeline we are in folks. At this point I am more excited for gen 10 Pokemon game than anything these big studios have to offer.

Looks fun. This is one of those mobile games I would have really wanted on my Vita back in the day.

(Actually, I have an Odin mobile for emulation gaming, I might try this game on that.)

Having more Ratchet games out on the market gaining popularity for the brand can help grease the wheels when the studio wants to get a mainline game going. Ratchet isn't such a seller that it's an easy greenlight for Sony (especially with Insomniac having a fruitful relationship with Marvel that not only has produced multiple mega-seller SpiderMan games but now has also branched out into other franchises.) If you want more Ratchet console games some day, an announcement for use of the brand outside of what you want has a better chance of getting you what you want than another year of no activity.

Cool I guess, but I'm not cheering for their income, nor do I care
Obviously they won't switch from something that both makes them a ton of money and is critically acclaimed, but that's the reality of the situation. As much as I'd love some more Ratchet and Clank or other original IP it's pretty obvious they won't switch. Like I'd love Epic to do another Unreal game but no there is chance in hell they will ever do anything apart from Fortnite.

Ratchet and Clank will return to consoles at some point, rift apart I already played I wonder if the ps2 having 2+ ratchet games that motivates them

Every PS mobile game (Uncharted, LBP) was shit and I don't see changing pattern here in all honesty. Feels like a POS project that will be released purely to fulfill some contracts and sunsetted in two months.

Why are so many being irrational about this?

It's a mobile spin-off based on Ratchet & Clank. They're finally doing what Nintendo's been doing for almost 10 years: mobile spin-offs to help grow mindshare of IP, without devaluing their console by straight-up porting console games to mobile (and having their 1P studios spend time on said ports).

I mean, Nintendo's avoided SIE's mistake of porting their own console games to PC, so they've still been better at avoiding that devaluation than SIE IMHO. But that aside, this is a good move for expanding R&C's brand mindshare in the market. It also looks sorta like a GAAS, so that's killing two birds with one stone, without sticking one of SIE's 1P studios on such a thing (so no Bend or Bluepoint situation).

If this were a new IP on Switch 2 I bet a LOT of the same people clowning or hating on this would've been perfectly fine with the game or even hyped for it. The double standards are extremely real.

Insomniac is shackled to whatever capeshit slop Sony force them whenever Disney wants them to do

I don't think Disney cares one way or another. It's Sony who's paying for the license. The day Sony stops paying for the license, there'd be a million other pubs/devs knocking on Disney's door hoping to take Sony/Insomniac's place.
