Talks about people using sports to ignore a murder
Talks about black on black crime
Talks about no one paying attention to black men killing black men

All within the first two minutes. All while trying his best minister impersonation.

#Allsuitsmatter

EDIT: Skip to 5:10 for the best part

'He will ask a simple question: How many lives have I changed?' while talking about God asking him a question at the pearly gates.

The answer is, at least, 2.

This is the pot screaming bloody murder at the kettle

EDIT:
"HOW MANY LIVES HAVE I CHANGED?"
Well, considering you murdered 2 people, at least 2 lives were changed because of you!

Has there been any kind of study done showing what amount of African Americans support #BlackLivesMatter? The amount of African Americans supporting Ray's video in those comments is kind of nuts (anecdotal obviously, which is why I ask)

Its really crazy what athletes were able to get away with just 10 to 15 years ago. Obviously they still get away with a lot of shit (especially in college) but stuff like Ray's double-homocide and Kobe's rape controvery wouldnt fly at all today.

Nah, Kobe's rape case would basically have played out pretty much exactly like Patrick Kane's did. Especially since I'm fairly sure that that woman did go to his room to have sex with him, and his dumb ass took it entirely too far.

Edit: And just so were clear, I'm not saying that excuses anything that he did, just that either a jury would have let him off the hook, or what actually happened in that case would have still happened (the reason that case didn't go to trial was because she said she wasn't going to to testify, IIRC).

I wanted to be in before people ignorantly brought up the self-defense murder incident he was involved in, but I see I'm too late.

Lewis flipped on his friends and took a plea deal.

His friends went to trial, were found innocent, and got off easier than Lewis did, who was put on probation for years as a part of his plea deal.

But let's ignore facts.

Roethlisberger did alright. Even used Ray's attorney..knew he was a winner!

Are you saying he didn't murder a dude?

She settled for a very large sum of money and an apology. That is why she dropped the criminal complaint. Kobe basically got to pay hisnway out of prison and nobody seemed to care as long as he put the little ball in the basket for wealthy fans and sponsors.

Ray Lewis helped to kill a guy and dispose of the evidence. Ben Roethlisberger raped a black out drunk girl and got local PD to help cover it up. Nobody cares as long as you still entertain the masses and the sponsors who are chasing after the money those people have left in their wallets.

Thanks for stating this.

I suggest people read this:

Kobe apologized but he never admitted to raping her. That's the difference, only they know what went on but the court of public opinion is always guilty until proven innocent and still even after that.

This was pure minstrel show coonery from Ray and it definitely wasn't meant for African American ears. Notice it's a bunch of White Trump and Cruz supporters on facebook giving Ray dap.
The Black community is just infested with folks with this kind of Sambo mindset and there needs to be more mechanisms to publicly shame and humiliate Black people who give voice to White supremacist talking points.

And I don't appreciate this talk coming from a man who rolled with murderers back in his prime. Have a million and one seats Ray, you hypocritical ass uncle Tom.

Lol. This was just a conservative, fox news O'reily rant hidden poorly behind a religious-figure-like delivery.

Don't undermine the awfulness of our police-brutality problems because of high crime rates.

Black on black violence is a predominant thing.

White on white violence is also a predominant thing. That's the result of largely racially homogenous communities, yo.

We can care about the obvious issues of police brutality while still trying our best to improve conditions in impoverished, high-crime, minority communities. We don't have to pick either or.

Ray and his D-list actor skills...

Marvin Harrison freaks the hell out of me. I'd leave any area if he was around. That guy is truly a gangsta that don't give a fuck.

Love Ray Lewis. And as a black person myself I agree with him. I wish Blacklivesmatter did more for black on black crime as well. There should've been outrage/marching for the senseless murder of Will Smith and attempt of murder on his wife. Not to take away from issues like the police brutality against blacks, but I want more to be done for the black on black crime as well. Would love to hear views from other African Americans on here.

"I was back in my prayer room"

Oh shit.......

Not today satan

Whiter than white guy here, but it was my understanding the BLM movement was more or less exclusively focused on highlighting racial inequality and police brutality/profiling/murder.

You're right.

And black groups have been rallying against the systemic issues of violence in black neighborhood for decades.

Things like better education funding, ending the drug war, not relegating black communities to neglected ghettos, have been on the table for ages, but the powers the be don't care.

They want to continue the racist drug war, schools are a mess, poverty is getting worse. All these directly affect the rise of gang violence.

This is why gentrification is so controversial.

So now, you guys are gonna care about these neighborhoods all the while kicking out the honest and hard working members out? These pillars kept these neglected communities viable, but now they're being told essentially to move, while not getting any benefits.

If hoteps cared about black on black violence as much as they pretend they do. They'd know many communities do a shit load of protesting, community gatherings, rallies, and patrolling to curb it and they've been doing this for decades upon decades.

But since that doesn't make the evening noose they can't be arsed to research it.

What about white on white violence?

To be fair, while I disagree with Lewis's statements from the OP, he does do a lot of community outreach.

http://www.baltimoreravens.com/team/history/ray-lewis/ray-lewis-community.html

He's not just preaching bootstraps and finger wagging.

I just think his understanding of the problem is somewhat shallow and sadly does more harm due to his visibility.

Kobe basically admitted it wasn't consensual in his apology right? He said he thought it was but she didn't, or something similar. Kinda feels bad to see him worshipped so much recently.

CNN, MSNBC, Fox, etc.

Honestly I say fuck Ray Lewis.

Yeah. Also you ever notice that it's always the same sanctimonious white dudes who cry about BLM but turn around and ignorantly regurgitate lies from the media about a black celebrity?

I pretty much just avoid Ray Lewis threads because it's a dog whistle for mildly racist shit.
