I care about black on black crime. But it's a damn shame to not expect more from police. Rape is terrible. Child rape is much worse.
Rape by a police officer, doctor, lawyer or priest is terrible because you expect more from those groups. Not just being moral but loving, by a higher standard. Crimes committed by different people have different expectations. Right or wrong, it's truth.
Police made up a statement, 'To protect and serve' and decided to live by it. They willingly made that one up. So, no one is ignoring black on black crime. We are holding them to their higher standards.
And, talking about black on black crime not being highlighted does a disservice to people who constantly hold vigils, prayer nights, rallies, etc for people who lose their lives from crime by other citizens. I'm always seeing it on Facebook. It's not true that people ignore black on black crime. It's true that you are ignoring them.
And ignoring their ability to make judgement calls. A judgement call that police violence is worse than violence from common criminals. Everyone can have that ability to decide. But pleas to focus on community violence over police violence is the ultimate whitesplained insult that some black people willingly pick up on.
And it's an insult to police. Follow the logic: we should be okay with behavior by the police associated with gangs or common criminals? That makes no sense in light of the hero worship for cops. Either they are courageous men of valor or they are the largest street gang in America. Don't try to sell me on both.
Fuck Ray Lewis. That's my biggest gripe of his rant. Whether he did it or not,I can't tell. But I'll definitely laugh at him being involved in two people dying, then invoking this bullshit argument.
Let's not overlook ray's involvement of two people dying, who happen to be black and your inability to fully cooperate. Like Tom Brady, you can defend yourself. But once you 'lose' some evidence, I just want you to go take a seat. Sure, the courts found you not guilty but get the fucking facts straight before you start indicting a community. Before you pass judgement on a community, at least let them hire an all star lawyer, lose some of the evidence and be granted the privilege you enjoyed so many years ago.
