It's both, in field we saw fighting mobs in real time then when he was fighting bigger enemy it turn from real time to turn based.

Are you referring to the visible frame rate drops from the trailer? Those should be ironed out by the time the game releases in fall of next year since optimization is one of the last steps in game dev.

The talent behind the game and time its been cooking is enough to make me confident of saying day-1 already. So much imagination in the concepts and on display, which is what the best JRPGs have like FF7, Xenoblade etc... Which is why its the best genre.

So just as a general question. The latest trailer made me reconsider my initial impression of the game. I initially thought that this was going to be an Isekai. Now I think it's not. I am fine with both approaches, I am just confused.
