When they realized the demographic watching was 43% Women who were opinionated on what they wanted season 2, they changed gears a bit. S1 was stellar, S2 was middling. It works better when Reacher is working as a lone wolf, so hopefully there is a lot more of that. It never felt like he was in real danger in season 2.

They say that in public. The viewership numbers of reacher being very high points out they like the alpha male who fucks all the women.
For that matter, 50 shades of Grey was a series about a dominant rich alpha male tying and gagging and abusing a young innocent girl and her falling for him. On a budget of less than 150 million, it made like 1.3 billion of almost exclusively female audience and wasn't a CGI blockbuster movie everyone complains took over cinema.

I just mean they didnt have to tell you the entire backstory of his squad and past life. They gave you just enough pieces for the story to matter. Reacher remained a bad ass, a wanderer. Seasons 2....they give away his entire backstory and past....its too much , not needed, overdramatic sap.

MUCH better than S2 so far. Still too many coincidences but these are the tropes of the genre. I like that they are letting folks be suspicious, they are thinking of the obvious things, Reacher is pro-active and anticipating, not just in permanent reactive mode. Still think his whole monastic lifestyle isn't really sustainable but at least he isn't downing pie while carrying 100 pounds of excess muscle
Cop lady is probably the weakest link but at least she looks good to make up for her very wooden acting. Better have sexy time to justify all the time spent on this laborious "we got the driver in a cabin" subplot.

This season is so bad. Just a few moments here and there that are cool but otherwise, meh. That Duffy girl has terrible acting. The supporting cast this season sucks.
It definitely feels like they should be doing 2 books a season if this is what we get. I've only read a few Reacher books (the one Tom cruise adapted) but they aren't so intricate that you couldn't power through them at a much faster clip. Periodic reacher movies would probably be the most optimal way to do these, even a mini-series format every 6 months, I"m sure there are $$$ reasons for a 10 ep season versus smaller chunks with how they gotta pay folks, but after the 4th time Reacher casually sneaked into and out of this supposedly secure house, it's pretty silly.

Season 3 reacher is fun, showing up to the crib at midnight after fucking around with baby doll head was a brilliant set up, at the end of the day it's just an insane show, I'm convinced season 3 directors played the Hitman games like the moments where Reacher sneaks around, or the take downs, and communication with the FBI from a device in his boot.

Holy shit this season is bad. It's not as bad as Season 2, yes, but honestly not by very much.
I hate how much these writers suck, Reacher is such a fun premise and S1 showed how great it could work. I was hoping they learned their lesson with S2, but they're instead very much doubling down on the girlboss stuff and all the other virtue signaling shit. Also, obviously it's not only the virtue signaling that is the problem, as always the problem is that writers who are retarded enough to go down this road are also retarded enough to make other bad writing choices, of which there are plenty in S3.
In a way, I'm glad I waited to watch this, because if I had watched this airing I would've 100% dropped this after Ep4 (rightfully so) and then maybe had some kind of misconstrued hope for this to get better. It doesn't.
S1 was easy 8/10, S2 was like 2/10, this is maybe a 3/10.
I will watch the finale tomorrow, but I'm truly glad I'm not watching this on any Amazon platform. That would actually be a deal breaker for me, I don't wanna count into the "minutes watched" stuff for them.
I know people like to make fun of the Jack Ryan show (rightfully so), but that show actually kinda worked. Sure it's camp and shit, but at least they know their audience and respect what they're tuning in for. Reacher could've been that, instead it's trying to be Emily in Paris.
