Thundercats!

This week!

This is one of the few shows I can watch from my childhood that doesn't make me cringe. I've been waiting on this one for ages, and this week it's going to start the release of the full series on DVD. It's gonna rock!

Are any brick and mortar stores offering good prices on it? I checked the Sunday circulars and it was offensively absent from Best Buy, Circuit City, and Target DVD ads! >:|

I hope Voltron gets a DVD release at some point too.

Ah cool. Unfortunetely, Cartoon Network played this show a few years back during Toonami and I realized it wasn't quite what I remembered it to be. This doesn't surprise me, since it's a kids show.

I'll have to pass. :(

It's a strange thing. Some kids shows just don't stand up to the memories. Some do, however:

Me and my boys will all end up with a copy of this, I'm sure. We even had a Thundercats guild in the WoW Beta, before Blizzard enacted their 'no copywritten properties' policy. They nuked our guild. :lol

So far as bobbing for turds out of the GAF sewer goes, your frustration amuses the living daylights out of me. :P

I'm pumped! We have this and then month from now, Fraggle Rock and then He-man in late fall, pure dvd heaven.

Speaking of puppets, I believe The Muppet Show comes out this week too! 8O

I enjoyed the Fraggle Rock comics, but by the time my family got cable the charm of the show was lost on me.

Ah, yes, Thundercats.

When I was a wee lad, I had every action figure for that show. I had tons of Thundercats merchandise. I even remember my Thundercats raincoat. I seem to vaguely remember going to see Thundercats at the Ice Capades one year, and getting a Lion-O sword. I remember this because the darn sword broke so easily, and my parents had to keep replacing it. Good memories.

Alright, sign me up for one of these sets. :D

Just kidding. I knew it was coming all along. It'll go right on my shelf, next to G.I.Joe, Transformers, Danger Mouse, TMNT, Garfield and Friends, Robotech, and Star Blazers. And later this year, He-Man, Voltron, The Muppet Show, Inspector Gadget, Heathcliff, Count Duckula, Zelda, and Super Mario can join the ranks.

I just wish it'd had a proper ending:(
I stopped watching it when Lion-O beat Mumm-Ra during his trials, that was a great way to end the cartoon, I never watched the rest.

Did I miss something good?

I think some 2bit toy company that the dollar store buys toys from got ahold of the molds for those. I keep seeing a toy called a "Laser Sword" that seems to be one repainted silver.

The first season of Thundercats is unbelievable. Too bad it quickly all went downhill. I always wondered what happened... did key folks leave the show?

Hmmm. . . any sightings of deals for this one at B&M stores yet?

Best Buy appears to be the best place to pick it up so far, at $45.99 if the site is to be trusted.
