Real Time has sucked this season

Seriously, there's really no use in bringing on anyone remotely conservative because all that happens is they get booed by the audience and the other two guests. Oh, and it's been less funny.

Yeah, the show has mainly consisted of trying to intimidate the few conservatives that do show up and bashing Bush every couple of minutes. That's all fine and well, but I miss the funny Bill Mahr. I want a pissed off discussion about politics, I can watch a random cable news channel...

I concur. The biggest problem is the audience boos the conservatives even when they have a legitimate point. And they get weak guests, like P.J. Harvey. Did you guys see him?

Oh Christ, I felt awkward FOR him just watching the guy. He just kind sat there laughing and saying some variation of "you crazy" every time somebody said something. I think that was the apex of his intellectual conversation in the entire discussion.

Yeah, Harvey was terrible on it. Jason Alexander was also horrible on it tonight. The thing he said about terrorists was absolutely retarded, and of course the crowd got on his side.

I agree that it is the audience that causes the show to suck. They really should consider doing it without one. I guess this doesn't work because there'd be no one there to laugh at Bill's jokes. Then again...

Bacon, what exactly was retarded about what Jason Alexander was saying? Do you honestly think the way to fight terrorism is to alienate all your allys and bomb uninvolved nations and civilians into oblivion. You mind expaining to me how this is going to stop small groups of scattered people stop taking potshots at the US?

He said something along the lines of "we should send the message that we'll leave terrorists alone until they bullshit us". I don't really think I need to go into an explination about why that is retarded.

First tragedy, then farce.
I think it also hurts that they are getting bad guests across the board..

they have brought in a few intelligent guests.. but he is no longer on ABC, HBO couldnt give a shit about ratings, bring in intellectuals, last year they had several people I would consider to be SIGNIFICANTLY smarter than I am. This year they are doing good to get someone on the show I wouldnt punch in the mouth for being an idiot.

Also, the crowd has gone nuts, I am guessing the political climate with the election is doing that. I dont see it getting better, especially if dubya wins in November.

remember when Sarah Silverman was on the show? i think it was the first one. she bombed, but you couldn't help but feel for her. i couldn't breathe the whole time she was on.

anyways, yeah, i don't really care for real time one way or the other. i don't go out of my way to watch it. bring back The Wire, post haste!

ps "Six Feet Under" has gone down the tubes, it's so sad

Indeed, she is hot.

Yes but more than that, nobody was laughing at her jokes because they were so ill.

I was chuckling a little but really feeling like "oh man Bill should throw his jacket around her shoulders and slowly walk her off stage"

I agree, watching 'Six Feet Under' has developed into a pretty depressing affair...

Hm, I wasn't watching it too closely but I don't remember him saying anything like that. I could be wrong.

As far as guests go, I'm really just waiting for the appearance George Carlin is supposed to make this season. He will destroy.
