Only shows scenes from the first two so don't get your hopes up. <.<

“Angela Vidal, the young television reporter who entered the building with the fireman, manages to make it out alive. But what the soldiers don’t know is that she carries the seed of the strange infection.

She is to be taken to a provisional quarantine facility, a high-security installation where she will have to stay in isolation for several days. An old oil tanker, miles off shore and surrounded by water on all sides, has been especially equipped for the quarantine.“

Considering how bad the third one was, I am not expecting much here. Didn't one of the original writers (from the first 2) leave?

There was a third one? Looks like I have something to watch tonight.

I thought Quarantine 2 was the biggest trash of cinematic experience I had in a while. REC 2 was good in terms of atmosphere and all the good stuff but I didn't like the whole story going the supernatural route.

I actually managed to show REC1 to my mom and sister, telling them it was a famous documentary about a fire department in Spain. That first half hour was great.

Ah man, I was so suprised at how much worse 3 was from the rest, hopefully they can turn it around.

The thing that gets me about the third one is that in the story they made an excuse as to why they had a high quality camera which felt like a way for the filmmakers to get away with a traditional cinematic look, but then they drop it for no reason.

part 3 was so bad it almost retroactively ruined the first two for me.

Thankfully REC 3 doesn't even touch on the origins of the outbreak, much less corrupt the mythology. It's the silver-lining that comes with not being connected to the original films in any meaningful way.

Looking forward to this one. If nothing else the plot sounds promising. I hope it does justice to the franchise.

I liked the 3rd one. Hot bride with a chainsaw is hot.

REC 3 is the Halloween 3 of its series of films.

like a beautiful and majestic butterfly.

Nope, that made it better than the typical zombie garbage. Religious themed demonic shit is so much creepier than typical virus zombie shit.

I kept watching that part over and over it might as well have been a gif. I didn't mind the 3rd movie. I enjoyed the late title card and when it switched from found footage to the traditional style. The religious stuff is on its way to become too much for me but I guess that's what sets them apart from regular zombies.

The 1st one is still one of my favourite horror movies of all time and I enjoyed the 2nd film mainly coz it allowed for more exploration to the ideas introduced at the end of the 1st film.
I didn't see the 3rd coz my local cinema showed it for 3 days at like 11:50pm on a week night :/

Did they change the style for the 3rd one? It's not lost footage from handhelds?

Part of it is from shaky cam though, just not much.

I've only seen the first REC, which kept itself fairly serious and grounded. Imagine my surprise when I saw the trailers for the third, which prominently featured a bloody bride attacking zombies with a chainsaw.

It seemed a strange tonal shift, haha!

LOVED [REC].

Enjoyed [REC] 2 despite not liking the
religious/demonic
angle they took with the virus.

Enjoyed Quarantine for being pretty solid shot for shot remake of [REC] 1. And, as always, Jennifer Carpenter did a good job acting scared shitless.

I even managed to somehow make it through the horrible Quarantine 2, which [thankfully and bravely] didn't go the same route as [REC] 2 and took a path of its own. Still much worse than all of the above though.

[REC] 3, however, was so insanely fucking bad that I couldn't bring myself to finish it. It was inconsistently shot, acting was mostly terrible, and it wasn't remotely scary. They also took the
religious/demonic
concept to a whole new level of stupid. When the characters were
traveling in blessed Paladin armor or some shit
it practically became a bad spoof movie.

I can't imagine [REC] 4 being that bad, but at this point I don't really care. Let me know how it is when it comes out, GAF.

REC 3 is great, campy great I mean... like Drag me to hell and stuff
rec 3 could be named zombies at a wedding. it was a comedy zombie horror. none of the previous movies were campy. rec3s trailer also set it up to be the relatable to the previous movies.

rec3 on its own, as a campy movie unrelated to a good franchise- is dreadful. drag me to hell was very well done.

Jesus. just had a flashback to wedding dresses and tunnels. so bad.
