Lisa Edelstein's dad touched my private parts. True fact.
God, I was just flipping through my itunes library in sheer boredom at some point on Sunday and I rediscovered Pulp, which I haven't listened to much since, what, 1998?
In any event, I'm one of presumably few who prefers His'n'Hers to A Different Class--but whatever, great albums and a great band.
Fave Jarvis lyrics, with some background for the uninitiated. So this kid is dating this girl whose older sister is allowed to have boys in her room. And then he and the younger sister start listening in, but he gets tired of just listening, so he decides to go one further and...
"Oh well I guess,
it couldn't last too long,
I came home one day,
a lot of years ago,
I hid inside her wardrobe,
I never heard her come,
but when she opened up her wardrobe,
well I had to get it on yeah,
and we were on the bed,
when you came home,
I heard you stop,
outside the door,
I know you looked,
believe me it's true,
I went with her,
'cause she looks like you,
my god!
Oh I want to take you home,
I want to give you children
and you might be my girlfriend,
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah!"
I'd forgotten how awesome their lyrics were. Pulp lyrics are always terriby morose and terribly sexual, and I just wanted to give my vote of confidence. I applaud them for living up to the image...hilariously.
