Don't care for speed or dual layer at all. Priority is reliability and compatibility in my burns.

Also, one more question:

1) What format is best for dvd playback (in my Toshiba Progressive Scan DVD player)? DVD+R I would assume?

Me too. Furthermore, why do DVD recorders only reord 1 hour of video at the Max setting? That blows.

Don't even want to spend that much. Cheaper than that please.

I want a quality burner, just don't care for all those features (dual layer). So I want a non-dual layer quality burner (which should be cheaper)

click on that link given just now, and do a search on burners and find the cheapest one....

not that hard.

Look around at newegg.com and read the reviews.. They have burners as cheap as $30-40 bucks if I'm not mistaken. Obviously the higher quality burners with better reputations are going to cost more (ie plextor). I don't think $62 bucks is expensive at all, especially for a DVD burner. I mean if you're main goal is reliability, I would definietly be prepared to spend at least $60 bucks.

yea, just remember your gonna get what you paid for.

$63 is too much!!!! Wow some people are really freaking spoiled these days. That is INCREDIBLY cheap for a DVD burner if you think about what they were going for. And not only is $63 incredibly cheap, but it is perhaps the best DVD burner out there.
