Recommend me a good headphones for the PSP

I've heard they're pretty bad by a lot of people here.

Well, I did use the incorrect term since they're technically earphones, but they're miles ahead of the iPod earphones for reference. And the remote is kinda nice to have, IMO.

You're the first person i've ever read of that didn't think those earphones were a total piece of shit.

As for recommending, from personal experience i recommend the Etymotic ER-6i's, some of the best in ear noise cancelling headphones around (sound great as well). Much better for travelling imo than full ear cans, i use these outside of my house over a pair of sennheiser 580's heh. Can be gotten for $129, there's also the top of the line ER-4's that run $220.

yeah, the value pack earphones are pretty awful. and that's in comparison to the ipod earphones, which i've also been using. i've just been plugging my psp into my stereo, which is perhaps a silly thing to do with a handheld, but sounds awesome. lumines and ridge racers have such great music.

i'd go with the classic Sony EX-71 SLs. Can be had for roughly $50. The SLs have a short length cord, originally designed for MD remotes, they'd go well with the remote of the PSP.

i've got the EX-70s which are basically the same as the 71s and they're great with my MD, DS, or any other sound source. There's better phones out there, but they're priced about right for someone who wants better-than-stock sound, without going into the hundreds.

You can get the Grado sr60's for around 60 or 70 bucks. Grado is a fantastic company as long as you don't need to worry about bothering people around you as these phones leak sound quite a bit (although they sound fantastic.

I posted this already in the official thread, but here is just to be sure that you don't make the wrong choice.

Don't touch the official PSP headphones!! They are utter, utter garbabe. I've got two pairs, one in a Value Pack and one as an accessory. Both have crappy connectors that rattle and hiss and switch constantly between stereo and mono. If you are very eager to rape your wallet with some big name / low performance headphones, go for the Apple Inear headphones. They're white too, and the bass is excellent. Even the standard Apple earbuds are good compared to the PSP crap ones.

The PSP remote could be somewhat useful, but unfortunately it follows the crapness of the PSP headphones in quality, very cheap and plasticky. So I've never used it.

the dt770's are hella fun headphones. you won't find better ones for gaming, movies or electronic music. i still use the 595's 95% of the time though...

I'm interested in good headphones, too (didn't get the Value Pack). Comfort is as important as the sound quality -- I've tried cans before (although nowhere near the quality of the ones mentioned here), and while they sounded quite good, they got uncomfortable after extended use and even made my ears sweat.

Any recommendations for a nice set of headphones that are both excellent sounding and comfortable?

Sennheiser HD 497. Great comfort and sound for a good price.

aren't the PSP's headphones MDR-EX51s or 71s to begin with?

I just bought a set of EX51s they sound great, but go damn are they weak. only 100 db/mW.

I originally wanted some panasonic RH-HJE50s since they've got a much larger drivers and are said to be plenty louder on top of having a wider range.

If you want some over the hear headphones, I can't recommend the panasonic RP-HG20 enough their diminutive price hides just how damn nice they sound. I love my set to death.

I hate the MDR-Q55SLS, I tried some once and they sounded just aweful, really piece of shit tin can sound. maybe they sound good by themselves, but next to my panasonics, they're rubbish.

Has anyone in Europe bought these Thrustmaster T510 Dolby Digital Headphones yet? If you have bought them, how good are they?
