iTunes is ok, but kinda slow.
I heard Tag&Rename is good... but I downloaded and the interface was incredibly cluttered; plus it was Shareware that expired.

Is there anything out there that's free, simple, and fast?

Thanks.

...ok its not really super simple to use, but its really powerful. can rename a bunch of mp3s at once, also you can get it to tag it based on the filename, stuff like that. was really useful in taming my mp3s for itunes

Back when I first got my 2G iPod (before iTunes) I found Musicmatch Jukebox to be suprisingly capable.

Now, the software is nearly Real Media grade evil on nearly every front, but the tag editing and organizing were very, very good.

Try that Book Helper dealie, I am, and if it it's still too complex maybe think about carefully probing at Musicmatch.
