There aren't that many bugs, only the janky server browser and that seems to have been fixed now.

Also, man, the PPSh is something nasty. Fun stuff.
 
It seems like the main bulk of complaints are from people who aren't used to this kind of game, the unforgiving nature of it all.

Same here. It's fun on the one life game mode but it sucks for TE. It'd be a better map if it actually had some alternate routes but as it stands, you're pretty much screwed just trying to get out of spawn, let alone advance to capture the territory where you HAVE to be exposed to someone at some time or another. Basically, it's a race in the beginning to set up shop in every corner of the map and then it's just the same people who actually try to go for the objective who die and respawn just to have it happen again while those who sit still nowhere near the territories are racking up kills.

A few alternate routes and it'd be good. But as it stands, it's hard to play if you're going for the objective even when some people throw smoke and that's rare anyway right now.

I love that they have this giant opening in the middle that could be the ground for some really epic fighting, but since everybody worries about their kill stats or they just dont wanna sit through another 20 seconds of spawnscreen and then have to spend a minute running back to the fight because the other team is camping all the edges and buildings waiting for someone to jump out in the open, they just camp all the buildings and edges waiting for someone to jump out in the open. Really, really dull it becomes quickly.

Also, why arent there tanks in some of these maps? Why are there 'tank maps' and no tank maps >_>? That map, platz whatever it was in RO has open areas, but you had 2 tanks on each side that could push, that you could push with, it opened it up alot more...

A tank provides an important diversion in those maps so its less 'whack a mole' people waiting and camping... Tanks can break the camping up so easily, they could make the map much more fun!

There are tanks on Fallen Fighters. It's whether or not the server has them on or if it's an infantry only server and then there's another whole map that is literally nothing but tank battles which is epic seeing like 10 tanks follow you on the flank.

The only map that doesn't have it is Apartments.
 
The only major bug I've encountered so far is one where when I respawn, my weapon starts spontaneously firing.

I've lost a couple of clips that way and when I switched weapons to try to make it stop...well, let's just say that tossing a couple of grenades around my spawn area didn't go well.
 
Loving the game so far. I also encountered the spawn firing bug and a couple of times my gun just stopped responding even though I reloaded it. The menus are also a mess, but they'll probably be fine in time of release.

Rock it like a boss, just haul ass till you reach the tunnels in the middle and flank them as quick as possible. Once you're taken the cowards out in the windows people tend to move out.

Edit: Really getting in to this now. :D

So I heard it runs like shit? A buddy of mine is playing on an i7-2600k + Radeon 6970 and having a hard time hitting 60 fps. Seems ridiculous to me.

Yeah...see my previous posts. Not "shit" but there's a bit of work to do. Nvidia seems to be fine. I'm running CrossFireX 6970 and not getting a stable 60 FPS with most things maxed out (also see previous posts) - but I installed the UE3 redist because other Radeon users have said that helps. I will test sometime in the next couple of hours.

Sethos is rockin' a 580 and has it maxed out. Although another dude with a 580 can't. Maybe it has to do with this UE3 Redist being correctly installed?
 
This game is not going to be ready for September. I know they want to beat the rush and judging by their previous games they will support this and fix it up to be great, but wow its pretty far from done.
 
It will be better once a proper community gets set. No use throwing smoke, hoping that your friendlies will run across as well, only to head in to a building alone and awaiting gunfire. Had a few rounds where a small group would flush out a single building to deal with the kill count heroes, so I can only imagine how much better it will be when proper shit happens.

My worry is once this happens the BF3 beta will be out and everyone will move over to that.

I'm sure I'll be guilty of that tbh!
 
Loving this but as has been said, I don't think it will be ready for release but I do trust the devs to fix it.
This is their baby and they will care for it.
 
Boy was I frustrated yesterday. Bugs, performance issues and random crashes. But I stuck to it and now I'm totally in love. This game was supposed to make the wait for BF3 a bit sweeter, but I think I'll be playing this for a long time.

Btw: Screw Call of Duty, this is how you do hit detection. If this had Frostbite 2-destruction, it would be the perfect shooter.
 
Having a really annoying issue. It plays fine for a little while, then everyone decides to walk into walls.

Is there a quickfix for this? Anyone else experiencing it?

I know there's a guide on how to fix it somewhere, I just can't be bothered to do it at the moment.

You level your avatar on the basis of honour (doing team stuff etc.) and the weapons on the basis of kills. You get points in the beta but they're not persistant and do nothing atm.
 
Played firefight for the first time tonight, but I didn't like it. I think countdown is fast becoming my favorite mode.

The Tripwire guys are rad. Played on a server with Ramm and some others last night, gave me flashbacks of the release of RO1.
 
What are the weapon loadouts like, is there limits on snipers, mgs and assault rifles. My usual choice in these kind of games is semi auto rifles, but they're usually class based and that class is limited by the server.
 
Snipers, but they are limited to 1-2 a map.

Semi automatic >.> um, there is some, one of the Russian rifles. Machine guns that you need to prop and set out to have any accuracy.
 
This game is brutally punishing...and I love every moment of it!

I can't think of a gaming experience I've had recently where getting one single kill is so very satisfying!
