Anyone remember when the first modchips were released for the PS1, PS2 and Xbox?

I'm thinking late 96, early 2001 and early 2002, respectively, but I'm not sure. Any exact dates would be appreciated. Thanks!

PS2: Neo2 = Dec 2000
PSX: dunno...

If I recall correctly, the first Xbox modchip was showcased in april 2002 by the Neo team but it never was released due to copyright infrigements (that the Enigmah team and many websites had troubles with).
